TEKILAS - Rogers, AR- As Far as Mexican Resturants in NW Arkansas go, This is top notch. They are new and very busy. Everything was delicious. The owner came out and gave me a roasted pepper suace that was awesome. I will be back. The only negative I have is the fries. They were very crisp, golden and slightly under cooked. They were to the point where the flavor was present, but then that slightly under done potato flaver was there. That is very nitpicky though, and it only slightly affected the score. The chimichanga was very excellently prepared, the chicken was seasoned very well. The Guac was slightly chucky and very good. The roasted pepper suace had a very nice green flavor, and just a hint of heat on the back and a creamy texture. The torta was very reminiscent of tortas I used to get in El Paso, Texas. The bread was soft and the combination of toppings was excellent. My wife had the carne asada and the only drawback was that it was a little messy to eat. Perhaps if the meat was in larger pieces, it would be easier to handle. Other than that, it was very tasty. Service was slow at first, and our waitress seemed to be learning, as well this is te first week after opening. I would say they are very much getting the system down. Mellisa P did a great job, she was attentive, to all her tables, and spot on with timing. Read moreMy wife had a late lunch here at the Rogers, AR location. I had Enchiladas Cuchicuato which is 4 enchiladas with diced potatoes and carrots grilled in Chile Guajillo and topped with Queso Fresco, Sour Cream and Tomatoes.
My wife had Steak Fajitas served with corn tortillas, rice and refried beans. Each serving for one is enough for two people! You DEFINITELY get the most bang for your buck here.
My meal was something I never had before, and it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had! We also had "Caramba Sauce" which was a bit spicy but complemented both our meals. We ordered a white queso and as the photo shows it disappeared rather quickly! The salsa that came with the chips was so flavorful that I wished I could have the recipe. Fresh ingredients were used, and our chips were refilled without our asking. That impressed me.
Service was excellent and so was the food! We both agreed that we would go back in a heartbeat! If you want a nice place to go for a great date night dinner, this...

I wanted to like it but I was kind of Disappointed. Chips & Salsa were good, Margarita was OK.... BUT CHICKEN CHIMICHUNGA was a disappointment. I asked for shredded cheese on top instead of Queso. THATS NO CHEESE SAUCE- put a pin in that. When it came it LOOKED GREAT...but I soon realized something was off. I GUESS THEY USE MOZZARELLA INSIDE??? AND THEY PUT SHREDDED MOZZARELLA ON TOP??? It's Mexican food,Where's the cheddar or Three cheese blend? I ordered a burrito not a calzone. The mozzarella just didn't do it. Taste was not there It was basically a large mozzarella stick.
What made it worse was they charged me $2 extra for chicken?? Wasn't supposed to & $1.50 for cheese sauce that I asked not to have. When they adjusted the bill they took the $2 off but not the cheese sauce. I was done & paid the bill.
Don't know if I'm brave enough to...
