My mother lives 7 miles north of here and can't get out on her own. Upon visiting, I convinced her to go out to eat with me and try some real Mexican. She like Taco Bell, but I told her flat out that was NOT real Mexican food.
As a traveler all across the country, I've been to several different Mexican joints, and I have to say I was quite surprised and pleased with this one! I have never had chicken quesadillas as thick and meaty and good as the ones I had here! And I was quite pleased there was very little greasiness with the food which seems to be a common problem among most Mexican restaurants I go to, which aggravates my acid reflux/heartburn. So I was very happy I fidnt have any gastrointestinal issues after my meal here. My mom also agreed the quesadillas were the best she'd ever had, tho not better than the ones I make for her at her home.
The only thing lacking was the customer service, because the waiter ordered me a chicken soft Taco when I stared twice I wanted a beef soft Taco, but I was happy to eat the chicken one. And he didn't smile all that much. But I still gave y'all 5 stars because he put up with our confusion and changing minds as we made 3 different changes to our order as he was taking it down. That may be why he was flummoxed about the beef soft Taco.
I will definitely add this place to my top two favorite places to eat in Rogersville when...

Very pleasant dining experience, with good traditional Mexican food and atmosphere. Food and drinks came out from the kitchen quick, hot and tasty. Staff is friendly, attentive and professional. Place was clean and nicely decorated.
As is the tradition in most Mexican restaurants, once seated the infamous delivery of the Table Salsa and Tortillas Chips - the salsa was fresh and had a nice spice taste with a little kick. A couple of minutes later, the drinks showed up - nice and cold and the speciality drinks had a flirty presentation with lots of foo-foo.
We ordered the Enchiladas Supreme with four enchiladas (chicken, beef, refried beans and cheese). The entree came with beans and rice, lettuce, tomatoes, plus all the pico-de-gallo and guacamole. Very flavorful and filling. Our second order was the Jael Plate, a jumbo flour tortilla with a variety of shrimp, meats, chorizo and caramelized onions. Again, very flavorful. Both entrees were more than enough for a meal and a left-over lunch the next day.
Julia’s has quality food and a good value. Definitely a...
Read moreWent to Julia’s Grill Mexican Restaurant today next to Foodland with two of my grandsons for lunch. We were, for the most part, ignored by our server. When he finally came, I ordered the Speedy Gonzales which was a taco, enchilada, rice (AND) beans for $9.40 on the lunch menu. Server asked me did I want rice (OR) beans. I said the menu states both rice (AND) beans. He said that will be $11.40. I said the menu price is $9.40. He said it’s a $1 more for rice. I explained the menu listed both rice AND beans for $9.40 and that $11.40 is $2 higher not $1. He said ok it’s $10.40. I told him he can’t just raise prices higher than the menu price but he could care less. I asked for my receipt for our drinks with no straws, paid and left. They weren’t very eager to serve today! I’m not likely to go back. They were not busy so I could not understand why the server took so long to come get our order. The boys had to-go cups but he didn’t give them any straws...
