Me and my wife love Indian food, and we were ecstatic about having one open in Rome. We went with a party of 5 and the booths and seating were some of the best around, very spacious and accommodating for the group. We all ordered multiple different items to try as much as we could and I have to say, EVERYTHING was fantastic. The chicken 65 was delicious, all 5 different curries were great and we will definitely be back, and our waiter Harold was knowledgeable, tentative, on point, and answered every question we had. Now the reason for the 4 star review. There may be somewhere and we overlooked it, but there was an undisclosed gratuity added to the bills that we were not told about until it was time to swipe out cards. No itemized receipts, no check, nothing to actually see our bill, we were just told there was a tip added, later on that evening the group browsed the menu online and we figured out it was a 20% tip added without knowing until the card reader was in our face. Harold said tip was added on a table of 4, don't think I've seen a mandatory tip on a 4 top before. It wasn't the money that bothered us so much, just the fact we were bombarded with a forced tip without knowing our total or the tip percent. So overall we will still go back and it was still absolutely some of the best Indian I'd had but we will be asking for an actual bill so we can see what we are being...
Read moreAbsolutely adored this place. The space is clean and well lit. The the decor is adorable and I loved the music videos in the background. The food..... it is impeccable! All of my dishes were seasoned to perfection and it felt like the chef was pouring all of their love into those dishes. I had the Mango Lassi which was one of the best I've had, the Chicken 65 which is an ABSOLUTE MUST TRY, the Pani Poori which was a delightfully vibrant kick to the taste buds, and the Shahi Chicken Korma which had a bit more heat than I expected but was a nice warm heat that allowed me to still experience the wonderfully cozy flavors, not an overwhelming one that set me aflame (our server later told us the curries can be adjusted according to you preference). The only minor fluke that my group experienced was the lack of an itemized bill. Not sure if that is standard with that POS system but it's important whether on screen or printed out that people be able to check over their bill (especially when it's over $100). Other than that, our server was on point and anything he didn't know the answer to (which is understandable when you are at a brand new restaurant), he went and asked and relayed it back to us. Loved this joint and can't wait to go back. I hope this place become a staple in our community. We have needed a good Indian Restaurant for...
Read moreMe and my partner went to go try this new restaurant last night since I had never had Indian food before. He had ate here days previously with a group of friends, but this night was quite different. I ordered the chicken biryani, and I'm not going to lie.. it was very bland, not seasoned and wasn't great at all. The garlic Naan? 10/10 I absolutely loved. My partner got the Tikka Masala and it was okay, still felt a little unseasoned but it was way better than my chicken biryani for sure. Kind of confused also to the yogurt sauce that was brought out with my chicken biryani, maybe I had a different idea of what the sauce for the meal was suppose to be (maybe like red, orange or even brown, similar to my partners sauce.) While Harold wasn't our waiter, I greatly appreciate that he checked on us and even brought me a free little dessert when I mentioned I wasn't a fan of my meal. Our waitress could have been a little more friendly. We were also confused why we got waters and was being charged for water bottles (we dined in and it was tap water in glasses) so when we asked, she just told us that that's what they charge for, but it did get removed when we mentioned it wasn't charged last time he dined in. Very iffy experience, I'm unsure if I'd eat again just because the food wasn't at all what I hoped...
