Granite's Famous Cheesesteaks & Wings — Restaurant in Roseville

Found out about this place a few days ago. Wanted to check a new place out so I came by. All the pictures I seen on their Google listing look so good.

The atmosphere is nice. They have a nice sitting area inside with arcade games and cool decor. The outside has a nice seating area with some outdoor games as well. Seems like a fun place to come hang out.

I ordered the regular cheesesteak. American with onions. The cheesesteak was a good size. I got the large, and it was large! No shortage of food.

However, the meat was chopped up too much and was slightly dry. It also lacked flavor. But it wasn't horrible. It was a good sandwich.

The reason for 3 star review is because of the front counter staff. The gentleman who helped me was playing a game on his phone during the entire order and did not look at me in my eyes when I was ordering.

I asked the man taking my order what kind of steak was included in the cheesesteak and he replied, "I don't know, we get it in huge blocks and slice it." He did not even try to find out for me. I like to rate cheesesteaks based on the meat provided. For example, it could have been ribeye and been horrible. Or it could have been sirloin and been better than a bad ribeye. Both a ribeye or sirloin could have gotten 5 Stars based on how it was prepared. I was just trying to find out and I was not given an answer. I also dined in which left plenty of time for the front counter staff to figure it out for me. My assumption is that it's frozen sirloin.

To be honest I would have left a 2-star review but felt a little bad because I know the owner can't control every little thing his staff do. If it was food quality alone, I will give 3 1/2 stars for that one sandwich. I know they offer variety of foods and I will be back...

My first visit to this establishment was less than I expected. I've read nothing but good reviews and because I was in the area I stopped to have some lunch. I approached the counter and really wasn't greeted in anyway. The gentleman behind the counter who was to take my order was totally involved with playing games on his phone to really notice me. I told him that this was my first visit and i had heard good reviews so I asked him if he could suggest something that the restaurant specializes in. His only response was that everything is good, then back to his phone. At this time I just should have walked out, not really sure if he was the owner or not. For someone who would much rather be on his phone instead of trying his best to talk about his menu is beyond me. It's not like they were busy, I was the only one there. After looking at the menu I was undecided between two menu items and once again i asked if he could help me decide or make a suggestion, once again taking his attention off of his phone his only comment was they were both good. I finally made my choice a steak sandwich with onions, mushrooms and American cheese. I will admit the large sandwich was very big and more than I could eat. The only problem was that there really wasn't any flavor to it. Needless to say I won't return even if I'm in the area again. Customer service is one of the most important issues with me even if the food really doesn't pass the test. I would have returned to try something else on the menu if the customer service...

I have ordered to-go there a handful of times, and I think think the food merits 4.7 stars. The restaurant itself is very basic smallish tavern like, but the owner always gives genuinely warm and great service. The portions are generous, especially the Philly cheese steaks. They give almost twice as much as other Philly cheese steaks I've had at other restaurants. The bacon cheese burger is one of my favorites there as well as the Philly cheese steak with onions and bell peppers. The garlic fries have been a hit or miss. When the garlic tastes more fresh and fries straight out of the fryer, they are absolutely scrumptious. A few times garlic tasted sour and that spoiled the experience. I have not tried their famous wings, yet. Another reason tjis restaurant stands out is the fact that they did not inflate the prices and have kept the generous sizing as well. I will definitely visit Granite's again the next time I have a craving for a good bacon burger or a...
