Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Ross Township

I’m just going start off by saying “WOW, JUST WOW, THAT WAS AMAZING!” I mean the EMPLOYEE was amazing, she was super nice and very informative. Even though I’m not good at ordering ice cream (I have a very severe speech impediment) she was patient with me and helped me order my certified Brusters’ favorite, a vanilla malt. After I was done ordering I asked her what her name was. She said “Oh, it’s Eva”. After she gave me my malt, I gave her a very generous tip and thanked her sincerely. Eva is a treasure to this world. We NEED more people like her. she is a great example of humanity at its best. I worked in customer service for 26 years, I always tried treating everybody with the respect and love they deserve. Most of the time customers I worked with were often rude and demanding. I put up with these people for many years and I understand the struggle hard workers like Eva have to go through. So this place can be great, but it's hit or miss. Lately, there seems to be missing ingredients (for example, I ordered pints of Graham Central Station a couple times and there was absolutely none of the graham cracker swirl, which is my favorite part). Also, the portions are sometimes ridiculously small and they're not consistent. I can get 4 scoops of ice cream one day, and it almost fills up a pint container. The next time I ask for 4 scoops, I get a small little container that looks like a child's size and can't be more than 2 scoops. The ice cream is good when it's made with the advertised ingredients, and when you get the expected amount. It's tough to spend $15 on ice cream for 2 people to walk away feeling ripped off, though. (For what it's worth, I've noticed that a woman who I believe is the owner seems to be the one who always gives us the REALLY small portions. She's nice, but I hate when she waits on us because I know I'll walk...

This place is awesome because it's open year long. They have a variety of flavors and they have different ones daily. They make fresh cones, waffle and sugar. And they are amazing. I tried the wedding cake which truly tasted like wedding cake. It was an almond ice cream with raspberry swirled throughout it. The Graham central station is great! Graham cracker ice cream with chunks of Graham cracker and chocolate chunks and swirls. They also have days where if you bring your own banana you get half off of a banana split. Can't go wrong if you're an ice cream lover even when it's 15...
