First Wok — Restaurant in Ross Township

I will never order from them again! My first bad encounter with them was last month, when I ordered a large combination fried rice. When I got home and was ready to eat, I noticed I only had 3 or 4 pieces of shrimp in my rice so I called them that very moment. When I called I first asked how many shrimps they put in their rice, and the lady replied with 7. She told me that on my next visit they will give me extra, since I didn't get the correct amount the first time. Fast forward to this past Sunday, I called and placed my order and informed the lady that answered what was told to me and I gave her my number because the lady said the 'credit' would be under my telephone number. There was no problem and she said okay, I'll give you extra in both large combination rice. Cool, I get home and opened one of the rice and that rice had plenty of shrimp, so I was happy. I saved the other rice for when I got off work later that night and had not opened it. When I got in that night and opened it I started to notice there was NO shrimp in the rice. I called and the lady, that I spoke to earlier that day, told me there was nothing she can do and that I should talk to her manager, I'm assuming the manager wasn't there because she took my number, again. I still have not received a called and got the vibe that the lady thought I was lying. If I paid my money for something that cost more, why am I being cheated out of...

I have ordered from China Koon and all the other local Chinese restaurants in this area. I have to say that the first wok is hands-down the best Chinese place anywhere in the lake county area. Every time I order from there the food is spot on. The meats are always tender, all of the dishes are so flavorful, and you get so much for your money. They are always willing to help you out, even when you need to add something to your DoorDash order.! I recently decided that they are such a good restaurant, and they are so good to me, that I will go in person to order the food from now on. The people that are preparing my food should get the appropriate tip... not the driver form DoorDash that does nothing but pick it up and bring it to me! I ordered the General Tso’s chicken, fried rice, and crab Rangoons. • General Tso’s Chicken: Very good! I prefer mine with a bit more heat, but it was flavorful and definitely something I’ll order again. • Fried Rice: Came in the cutest little container, and the flavor was spot-on. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. • Crab Rangoons: I could live off these things. I crave them constantly, and these did not disappoint. I got seven! Most chain places give you three tops, so I was thrilled. Five stars for those alone!

I also ordered a Diet Pepsi but received a regular Pepsi instead. Not ideal, since I’m not really a fan of either—but I’m guessing they were out. No big deal; water worked just fine.
