I'm rather upset. I tried coming here for the first time and everyone In the house got what they ordered however my chimichanga had sour cream on it which I can't stomach... I called to ask about compensation and was offered to have the chimi remade but I live 25 minutes away. I brought up the $4+ gas prices and even though the manager was very friendly she couldn't do anything more such as refund me for the chimi due to the large inconvenience to me to have to drive all the way there to make it better. She claimed she was bound by the store policy. They would have had my review at a better rating if I had been offered a better deal for compensation. I decided not to even go back and to leave this instead as a warning: check your food before you leave or you will come back at your own expense if you need it replaced. They will not compensate the item. Save the gas to go to tacobell instead, at least if they mess it up they will fix the order and even...
Read moreA pretty restaurant, very colorful with hand carved and painted tables and chairs, and Mexican-style decorations. The food was passable, but having spent most of my life in the Southwest I tend to be biased. The salsa was very mild and it seemed that most of the flavor came from the tomatoes and black pepper. The chips were very fresh, still warm from the fryer. The taco beef was almost a mush with very little seasoning. The beans were good with a traditional frijole flavor. As to the service, I was rather disappointed. The young lady who waited on us never smiled once and was not attentive, only returning to our table the times; once when I asked her for a glass of water, once with our food and once to bring the check. Over all, I can give them an E for effort, more or less, but the restaurant could use improvement. Two stars for appearance, one shared for service and...
Read moreComing from Arizona, I really wanted some Mexican. I knew it wouldn't be the same but I thought a little taqueria hole in the wall may be the right place to start. It's a lot bigger when you go inside. We went at lunch and it was pretty packed. I was told by the people I went with that everything they had gotten was good. I tried something simple; beef taco, cheese enchilada. It was ok, but definitely not comparable to the great Mexican I got in AZ. Wasn't very flavorful or spicy. The cheese wasn't melted and the beans and rice were bland. I wouldn't return on my own, or take someone who knows good Mexican food there. This rating gets a 3 because I think by Michigan standards it suffices. If this place were in AZ it wouldn't stay...
