Scotty's Hot Dog Stand — Restaurant in Round Lake Beach

I love this place. It's fair prices. I mean there are definitely cheaper places to go and taste almost equally as good, but for some reason I just prefer here lol. They are very nice but it's small you definitely don't want to go here if you're wanting to eat out because there is no seating in this place is just a small walk way to the counter and that's it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the last few times I have gone, they have messed my order up. nothing crazy but yesterday when I went, Instead of relish on some of the hotdogs they put peppers. I mean it's not like the peppers were cut up to were they would mix them up either. And at 5$ a hotdog versus several other places in the area that are 2$ I would expect the food to be...

I grew up on Beach View Dr., right next door to Scotty’s, and have so many memories of eating here over the years. That’s why it was so disappointing to return after 5 years and have such a bad experience. I ordered 3 Chicago hot dogs and a burger and paid almost $60—way too much for what I got. The hot dogs were soggy, and the buns were soaking wet. They were so gross, I only let my child eat the sausage.

Scotty’s just isn’t what it used to be. The quality has gone way down, and it’s clear the care and service aren't there anymore. I’m honestly glad I didn’t leave a tip that day because the person working didn’t deserve it. After all the memories I had here, this visit left me disappointed. If things don’t improve, I can see this place...

Finally stopped in the famed hot dog stand a couple of weeks ago after a long hiatus. Lived in RL from May '89-Nov '02 which is when I was in & out of this place along with a few other RL area favs.

Not just hot dogs but their overall menu has always been awesome. Good prices, friendly service and tasty quality eats will keep you coming back to this wonder.

Been living in Beach Park for nearly the last 19 years so unfortunately I usually end up some place much closer when in the mood for a Chicago grill. Been at least a couple of years since I've been to Scotty's, though.

After biting into that dog & fries automatically it brought me back in time. Gonna try to make it out here a bit more often 'cause I definitely miss...
