Above and Beyond, Heroes in Orange
07 October 2021 I went through the drive-thru of the Whataburger at 4640 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665. I shut my vehicle off because it busy and I knew my order was being made fresh. After Ethan collected the payment I tried to start my vehicle, but the battery was dead. Ethan returned with Robert Simpson. They offered to push my vehicle to a parking spot, but unfortunately my vehicle wouldn't even shift gears without power. As I called for Roadside assistance, Robert offered to use his vehicle to give me a jump. I accepted, but my battery was so drained that after 2 minutes I knew if we stayed connected I would drain his battery. He was willing to take that risk due to the heat and my obvious distress. Still I didn't want to start a cycle - after all I gave someone a jump-start (despite seeing serious corrosion on the battery) on the 5th. Now I was in need of the same. Karma was quick, lol. It was 91°F but the humidity made it feel like 95° / 96°. He brought me a cup of ice water, encouraged me to come into the restaurant, and checked on me periodically. Ethan brought out my order, and blocked off the drive-thru lane I was in. It was the lunch hour rush, but Robert was more concerned about me; the human being, a lone woman who was in distress. The manager came out once as well. He was pleasant, as he asked if someone was coming to help me and if I was otherwise okay. Eventually Roadside assistance came and I was able to leave. I salute you, Whataburger crew.
Sincerely, A Retired...
Read moreI'm a truck driver, I just visited this location hoping to get some food after a long day of driving. I parked my truck behind the adjacent Walmart and walked to this Whataburger location in 37° weather. When I arrived, I entered the dining room and approached the counter to order.
I was approached by a very rude young man telling me that "You can't be in here. You have to order from the drive thru." I said, well the door was unlocked and I'm already here, so can I just order a meal to go. He said "No, you have to go to the drive thru because that's our policy." I explained that I had walked to the location and thus was not in a vehicle. He responded "You can't be in here, you have to go to the drive thru because that's our policy." I said, "I walked here and I'm already here, so why can't I just place a to go order." He said "You can't be in here and I need you to leave." I asked to speak with the manager, and he claimed that he was the manager. So, I asked him for the contact information for the owner of the restaurant. He said "I don't have to give you that information. You can look it up." I said, "Fine, what is the Store #". and he said "892". So, I left.
I normally love Whataburger and I try to eat there when I can find one with big truck parking nearby. But I've never been treated so rudely at any Whataburger location as I was by this rude young man at this location.
Needless to say, I...
Read moreI went through the Drive Thru at 8:56pm. Naturally, I go to the shorter lane which was Lane B because no one was there. It was not blocked off with cones therefore meaning that lane is open to utilize. After waiting for about a minute of no acknowledgement, I said “hello?”.. nothing for about another 45 seconds. Said “hello?” again. I finally got an answer with a rude attitude; that she will be with me shortly. The girl then proceeds to help me after getting cars in the other lane that pulled up AFTER me. Then my order gets taken and I get directed to pull to the first window. She takes care of the car in front of me immediately. As I pull up, I saw her (Aaliyah; now I can see her name tape) through the window get on her phone and didn’t assist me for nearly two minutes. As Aaliyah took my payment, her tone stayed rude/annoyed and as if she wanted to be anywhere but working. We finished up and I pulled to the second window. I saw in my rear view that Aaliyah immediately took care of the truck behind me! eye roll This is customer service. It wouldn’t hurt for the employees to at least not be rude. Was Aaliyah upset because I used the other lane? It was open for use. I don’t know what else to say in regards to that. I typically never have a bad experience as I come to this location often even during the...
