Benito's Pizza Royal Oak — Restaurant in Royal Oak

I will say, the food is great however, a while back I ordered a pizza for delivery while I was working (I wasn’t able to pick up). I worked at the Cemetery not even a mile up the road from Benito’s and I understand delivery fees. I did not feel obligated to tip the driver for a one min. drive. She drops off the food, I sign the receipt (mind you I did not leave a tip). The next day my card is charged an extra $5 for a tip. The driver wrote a tip on the receipt for herself. It’s very obvious as well. She wrote in completely different ink and completely different handwriting. I called and made a complaint. I was promised $10 credit and that was it. No refund or anything else. I call in a few weeks ago and there was absolutely no record of any kind of credit and I was not refunded and nothing was done. And despite my complaint for fraud from the employee, there was several of complaints before mine… I hardly ever leave reviews and I truly believe this should be shared. Editing my review because whatever “management” that responds to these reviews never seems to be able to take accountability for bad reviews. I have proof, receipts and documentation messages that this occurrence did in fact happen....

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with family by a game day with pizza. Based upon your excellent reviews, we decided to give you a try, and YOU'VE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!

We ordered a special consisting of two large pies, and antipasto salad, and cheesey bread, and we were blown away by the quality, flavor AND value for money. The deep dish pie, with pepperoni and mushroom toppings were LOADED with each, while the garlic flavored crust was outstanding too. Our other pie, a traditional parmesan crust with sausage and mushrooms, was likewise covered in excellent toppings. We were amazed.

The antipasto salad was huge, with toppings so fresh that they crunched when eaten. The bread was a hit as well.

The icing on the cake was the customer service; we were greeted with a smile, we were asked if we needed additional things, and the food was available at the designated time.

Ordered a delivery. Asked for $10 change. The driver told me he had no change. I ordered and was paying in cash but the driver has no change? I was forced to call in and give a credit card. When I talked to the manager he made it seem like I was absolutely insane for thinking the driver would have change. He said "he is not my driver. He usually makes the pizzas." He brushed me off and made me just want to send the pizza back. The conversation with the manager on the phone ensured that I will not order their delicious pizzas again. He made it seem like I am odd for expecting someone to have a few dollars for change. Like it was my fault for not having exact change. That guy should not be managing anything.
