SmashBros — Restaurant in Runnemede

Here's a backstory to this location that i'm going to today for lunch. Opened only about six months in Runnemede New Jersey, SmashBros has become so popular they are expanding to a second (and much larger) location which is coming soon to Glassboro. Brothers Mo and Fahmi who live in South Jersey, and after many years working in the restaurant and hospitality industry they took a chance on a small Runnemede building to offer delicious smashburgers, chicken wings, cheesesteaks, Mac & Cheese Balls and more. They were absolutely hoping for success but it seems customer response has gone well beyond their expectations.… with long lines of customers waiting for orders at the little Runnemede foodie hotspot. SmashBros is also smashing it out of the park in getting the word out. They have over 14,000 followers on instagram and many well known area foodie influencers have featured the burgers, wings and more. It has been featured on South Jersey Food Scene, Traveling Tastebuds , Dar the Food Guru, Munchies with Melly, Wanmiz, and Foodie Finds Diary.

On this sunny, dry, and warm Friday, we're having lunch at the mega popular halal chicken tender, wing, cheesesteak, and smashburger spot: SmashBros in Runnemede, NJ. My mom got a hot chicken sandwich while I got the 6-piece hot honey garlic tenders. As wreslter Keith Lee from AEW and WWE would say, "Oh my god"). These tenders were BUSSIN and BANGIN! These tenders are unf*king phenomenal and it's a 1000 times better than any other fast food chicken nugget. You know that I love garlic, but I don't like it overpowering, and it doesn't overpower the product at all. It's our first time here, the food is so fresh, and it's definitely made with love & care. I LOVE anything mom & pop, black-owned, or local businesses. A ton of people from South Jersey Food Scene should know about this...

Let me tell ya’ll, this was the absolute BEST trio food ever. I ordered a triple hamburger, buffalo wings, AND fries with a drink, this all totaled to $30. It was enough to feed my family of two others (husband and toddler) and we all enjoyed every single bit of it. Literally ate it all with NO CRUMBS left. The wings are smoked, then fried - so don’t assume these are soft wings. These are the wings you think you’re getting at a pub, wing stop, or even your local pizza store but they AREN’T, they are BETTTTTER . They are exactly the sort of wings I mean when I say I want wings. I ordered 10 altogether, 5 plain and 5 with sauce. Bruh. Just go and let me know if you too, have the same tasteful experience with the wings like I did. And onto the hamburger. For one, the bread …. Is none other than the great MARTIN’S POTATO BREAD (IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW) so that right there told me enough about the quality of the hamburger itself. Every time I bit into the meat, you’d think it was BUTTER. And I mean SOFTEN butter, not the hard stick!!! JUST OVERALLLL AMAZZZING FOOOD. And the atmosphere to dine in was also slow, calm and amazing. Perfect for me and my family to sit and enjoy, which we did and again ate it alll…. With NO CRUMBS.

10/10 everything. I mean 100000/100000 this is the kind of place you want to keep under wraps for selfish reasons, but also know they deserve to take off and run the whole entire East Coast with food like this.

First things first. The food is amazing, Chicken tenders are big, juicy and crispy. You can add different kinds of sauce whether it's on top of it or on the side. The loaded fries with chicken, coleslaw their special sauce and pickles are to die for. Their smashburger is nice and flat with crispy edges and simple, They come with cheese, fried onions, their special sauce and pickles. Mind you, you can add other toppings to the burger. The fried pickles are big, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside served with ranch that is out of this world. And their french fries are crispy on the outside and very soft, fluffy and moist on the inside. They taste great just by themselves, but you can dip them in any kind of sauce you'd like. Now to the atmosphere, the atmosphere is very clean but the inside of the store is very small. You can only fit about five people maybe... and the parking lot is very tiny. You might as well park on the side street. There are two picnic tables on the outside that can sit at least about 10 people, but bringing it home tastes just as good. I just wouldn't wait too long because you want to eat it hot. This place has been on my radar for a while. I'm so glad I finally got a chance to try them out. I definitely recommend it. If you don't feel like traveling to Assad's Hot Chicken or Dave's Hot Chicken, this place is just as good or might be even better. They also have other items on their menu like cheesesteaks but their menu is small so I believe that makes it easier for them to concentrate on the food they do have to make it at a high quality level.
