The lefse I received was not edible. I ordered two shipments of the minimum order (3 packs/nine rounds), one for myself in Atlanta, and one for my parents in Iowa. We all took only a bite and that was all she wrote! My Dad's response was "Ick!" My Mom said it was completely tasteless and so thin she was unable to unfold it as it ripped. The lefse in the package I received had dark blotches on one end (the color reminded me of potatoes that have been left out too long). It was like eating dough, totally tasteless and nothing recognizable as lefse.
I called Norsland Lefse and related our disappointing experience to the manager. He said that the packages had been received in a timely manner, and when I asked if it was possible that this could have been a bad batch, he said no, that's not possible, that they have a quality product. He offered to replace the lefse, which I declined as if in fact their product is the same all the time, what would be the point in receiving more shipments of horrible lefse. I would have liked a refund of the $50 I wasted. If I'd have known this company did not stand behind their products and did not take seriously the feedback of unsatisfied customers, I would never have given my business to...
Read moreDon't let the lefse throw you off if you're not Norwegian and have no idea what it is - this place is great! I'm not even Norwegian, and normally I'm not the biggest lefse fan (only ever had it with sugar before, not my thing). But when it's used in place as a tortilla, sign me up!
We had the Breakfast Uffda wrap with hollandaise sauce for breakfast and were glad we asked the waitress whether it was big enough to split. It was huge, definitely enough for both my mother and me to feel like we weren't sharing a meal; it would have been way too much for one person if we'd each gotten one. The coffee was great, and then there was the case of goodies up front to choose from. The scones were particularly good for an on-the-road snack later in the day. Forgot to take a picture of the breakfast, as we devoured it. And the price? $8.95 for two people? Unheard of in these crazy times!!! We loaded up on goodies to bring home and it was still only $18...
Read moreAfter hearing so many great things at work about this place, we were profoundly disappointed with the service during our visit. We arrived just after 12:30 pm, and two other couples who arrived after us both had their orders taken and received their food well before us. It took 35 minutes to get our food after ordering as “the lefse is frozen this time of year” so we start to eat around 1:20 pm. Shortly thereafter, workers are cleaning up around us, banging chairs, running the vacuum, as the place closes at 2:00 pm, but it was only 1:40 pm and it took forever to get our food due to their taking orders of others ahead of us. Also the server was just clueless about the basics of serving. We will...
