Since it was deleted the first time... here it is again. Check your receipt!!! My husband and daughter ordered the grilled chicken cooked with onions and bell peppers. On the menu the meal is $11.99. (Remember this for later) Their chicken breast was TINY and has no onions or bell peppers as described in the menu. The mashed potatoes tasted like water and thatâs it. The frozen green beans had no taste. I ordered chicken fried chicken which wasnât bad. Then as stated on the menu the meals come with two sides and dinner rolls. We did not receive rolls. When I asked a waitress/hostess, not ours because she wasnât there at the moment. She got an attitude and she said it only comes with a special. I said no, on the menu, and showed her, it reads, âserved with two sides and dinner rolls. Extra rolls are 34⏠each.â So she asked the manager. They came back with the rolls. Then I get the receipt. Iâm looking over it and I see they charged us for dinner rolls and over charged my husbands and daughters meals to $14.80. It read on the receipt, grilled chicken 2, $29.60. Before taxes, taxes are calculated at the end. So how does $11.99 times two come out to almost $30? So I asked the waitress to take the rolls off because it comes with the meal as stated on the menu. Then the chicken needed to be the price that is on the menu. So I assume a manager comes, middle aged blonde lady. She said, âitâs because tonight itâs our special.â So a special is more on one night of the week? She said, âitâs because it comes with a tea so we charge more. We All Ordered water. I told her well, we ordered water and was not told we would be up charged bc itâs a special and is supposed to be served with tea. I am paying the price on the menu and not for something I didnât order. So she changes it. As I walk to the counter to pay the girls standing there whisper something while looking at me and start to laugh. I cAnt Bellville they were stealing customers money by lying and up charging. Check your receipt!!! Food isnât good. Service was not good and smallllllll portions. I should have taken pics of the whole time there but I was so irritated...
Read moreWeâre big fans of trying new spots and were genuinely excited to check this place outâespecially since it was busy and people seemed to be enjoying their meals. But Iâm honestly baffled. Are we all eating the same food here?
We started strong with the loaded nachos (sorry, I forgot the actual name, but youâll know themâbest thing we had all night). They were genuinely delicious and gave us hope. That hope was short-lived.
Then came the entreesâ Daughterâs meal: Chicken strips and fries â Totally fine. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid. Kid-approved. My meal: Cheeseburger with cheese fries â I wish I were exaggerating, but the burger looked like it had been boiled. Like, cafeteria-style âsomehow both gray and soggyâ boiled. I couldnât eat it. Husbandâs meal: Tomâs Chicken Fried Steak Special â Came with a special bonus ingredient: a hair embedded in the batter. They kindly remade it (thank you), but letâs be honest, the damage was done. The scalloped potatoes? More like potato chunks swimming in cheesy water. The corn tasted like itâd spent all day in a lukewarm spa bath. Zero flavor. Daughterâs meal: the âpepper steakâ â Iâm using quotes here because what we got was more like a steamed hamburger patty with peppers and cheese inside. The baked potato was somehow both flavorless and confusing. The bacon? I have follow-up questions. Like, what was that?
Look, I get it. Some nights the kitchenâs off, or maybe short-staffed, or maybe the grill really was broken. But this felt like a prank. And yetâother tables were digging in like they were at a five-star spot. Are we on a hidden camera show?
The only highlight (besides the nachos) was our server. She was incredible, kind, and clearly doing her best despite the chaos. I didnât have the heart to walk out on her, so yesâwe paid $80 to eat nachos. Wild.
Wouldnât return. But Iâll remember the...
Read moreI am not sure if there is a nostalgia factor when it comes into most of these reviews but we had a completely different experience from what other had.
While the fried onion appetizer was good, the main dishes were nothing special. Chicken fried steak tasted like it had been pre fried earlier and was not crispy, no seasoning, and they charge $3 for a small baked potato side that comes with only cheese and sour cream. No bacon or chives, but $3 seems appropriate for some reason.
The drinks come with only one refill and then they charge you for another. Kids meals don't get free refills and they make sure to not tell you that as well so when you ask for another they surprise you with saying you "will need to purchase another drink".
Server had an attitude compared to the other around us, restaurant wasn't busy either. They make you pay at the front even though servers inside were paying their own tables from another kiosk.
Receipt says "4% discount when paying with cash" but what they actually mean is you are charged a 4% surcharge when you pay with a card as my total changed when I had my card ran. Overall, terrible experience, bad food, pretty...
