First time going to this restaurant and probably shouldn't have taken the family on Mother's day. While the vibe was good, the food not so much. There were 13 of us, and I don't know why they only gave us one waitress because they really didn't seem to be that busy. The waitress did her best to take our orders and get our food and drinks promptly, but there were some of us at the table who were trying to change out our tea because it was really watered down, and our waitress was really busy taking other people's orders so some of us didn't get our drinks changed out. I ordered the Mexicana steak, and I asked if I could get it medium. It was cut up and overcooked and lukewarm. My mother ordered chicken enchiladas with cream sauce and ended up getting enchiladas with queso. My daughter ordered chimichanga with brisket, but instead got a chimichanga with shredded chicken. My friend who was celebrating Mother's Day ordered shrimp tacos and they came out lukewarm. Maybe if we have more than one waitress the food would have come out sooner and made it to the table while it was hot. The charro beans we're not hot, but by that time everything's already gone wrong so you just don't even bother saying anything. Then at the end we order sopapillas, and we sat there for a while waiting on them when the waitress came back and said they hadn't even started the order so we canceled them. I guess the biggest disappointment was the fact that having botched that many orders the manager never even came to our table to offer his apologies for all the problems we experienced with the food. That was our first and last trip to Manny's. Again, I just hate that it was a special day, and you would think they would have anticipated having a little more...

My recent visit to Manny's Uptown Tex-Mex, located on the border of Garland and Sachse along the George Bush Highway, was overall an enjoyable experience, with just one minor issue.
On this pleasant, overcast day, we chose to dine on the patio, which was enhanced by a gentle, cooling breeze. We started our meal by ordering a Strawberry Margarita and two Manny Taxi Margaritas, which feature a delightful sangria twist. In comparison to similar offerings from Gloria's and Mi Cocina, I found Manny's margaritas to be superior in taste and quality.
For my entrée, I opted for the brisket nachos, making it explicitly clear to the waiter that I had a severe allergy to cilantro. Despite my repeated warnings, the nachos arrived with guacamole, which had come into contact with a few of the chips. Opting for caution, I decided not to consume the affected chips and instead shared them with my dining companions. Nonetheless, the brisket itself was truly delicious.
The rest of our group enjoyed a burrito with queso and a Manny Special, accompanied by a side taco and salad. It is also worth mentioning that the water served at Manny's had a notably pleasant taste, a stark contrast to typical Dallas tap water.
In summary, Manny's Uptown Tex-Mex offers an exceptional dining experience, featuring delectable food and outstanding margaritas. However, the oversight regarding my cilantro allergy detracted slightly from an otherwise impeccable outing. In light of this, I give Manny's Uptown Tex-Mex a four-star rating, with a note for improvement on carefully catering to patrons...
Read moreI recently dined at Manny’s Tex-Mex in Sachse, and while the food was solid, the service left much to be desired. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match up.
When I asked our waiter for more salsa, he seemed to forget, so I had to ask another server several minutes later. The same issue occurred when I requested more chips. The chips we initially received were not hot or warm, which was a bit disappointing. After waiting, I had to get another gentleman to bring us the extra chips we needed.
Despite the hiccups with service, the food itself was good. The flavors were on point and the portions were generous. However, when you’re dealing with slow and forgetful service, it can take away from the overall dining experience.
Here are things that are important to me when I go to a restaurant: Cleanliness of the restrooms - 5 star for this location Cleanliness of the store itself - 5 star for this location Customer Service - 3 star for this location Working Tap at the register - 0 star for this location (The same waiter that forgot to bring our salsa emphatically said, we don't do tap. I tried to explain but he cut me off that they just don't do tap 🫨. I wanted to tell him it's 2024! 😁)
Manny’s Tex-Mex has potential, and I’m hopeful that my experience was an anomaly. If the service improves, this place could be a great spot for Tex-Mex lovers. For now, I’ll consider giving it another shot, but with a...
