Came down to Sacramento for work and of course I was going to try a lot of the food around. Although the first review was definitely going to be somewhere, Chando's couldn't be left behind. Good reviews and even recommended by a family member in Sac as their favorite.
When I showed up, they were just a bit from closing and was thinking I was going to be disappointed in terms of food quality.
Absolutely not.
Tres de asada y tres de adobada.
Holy cow, I pretty much got the whole loin on these tacos! So much meat I could literally make 12 tacos out of the 6! That's how full they are!
First, the presentation and preparation are A1! Topped with onion, cilantro and most important guacamoke, opening the box makes your eyes peel all the way out. Loaded, hot and fresh.
First bite was into an asada taco. Wow, such deliciously seasoned meat. So tender, so juicy and tongue pleasuring I was so happy to be there in the moment. I had an enormous amount of meat fall off I had to leave the second tortilla behind to make the best of it. Literally happenes with a the tacos. 10 stars for the asada taco.
The adobada though, wasn't particularly my favorite. The seasoning of the meat was definitely not mine. I wasn't having it with that. It wasn't the worst, it wasn't bad, it's just my pallete, so to you who's reading this, I hope you either like it or you don't. Try 1 taco of it because I think I'd rather warn you than to lie and say it was delicious. I ate those first and finished off with the asada tacos. 7 out of 10, 3 off for flavors but those 7 are well deserved for preparation and presentation as well. Still looked beautiful and appetizing.
Last, my drink. The pineapple water was absolutely scrumptious. Real pineapple flavor, ice cold was soooo good. 10/10 for the awesome refresher.
The horchata was questionable even though I didn't taste it. My cousins reported it was kind of nasty but don't take my word for it. I went strictly to the pineapple water.
I will be back to...

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the tacos. Oh, the tacos! Each one is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with the freshest ingredients. The tortillas were fresh and warm, with that just-right texture that holds everything together without falling apart.
And don't even get me started on the fish taco – crispy, succulent, and paired with a creamy, tangy slaw that could make a grown man weep with joy.
Every bite was a revelation, and the generous portions ensured I left completely satisfied. But the tacos are just the beginning. The sides and salsas deserve their own standing ovation. The guacamole was chunky and bursting with flavor.
The service was impeccable, too. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They made excellent recommendations and were attentive without being overbearing.
In a world full of mediocre meals and forgettable dining experiences, Chando's Tacos is a beacon of culinary excellence. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out on the best tacos this side of the border. Trust me, one visit and you'll be hooked for life. This place isn't just a lunch spot; it's a taco lover's paradise. Five stars don't even begin to do it justice!

Read moreGot the wrong tacos, ordered Carne Asada and got Fish, didn't notice until I got home. Go back and order same thing, should have probably just ate the fish because the Asada is rubber and barely a drop of Guac. Not pleased paying 10 bucks for 2 tacos that I wouldn't even serve to my dogs. I've ate here a couple of times over the years and this is the last time I order, trying to support local places, not every time has been this bad but it will be a really long time for me to attempt to try chandos again.
2nd review. 11/20/2020 Came back after 6months and food was supposed to be ready for pickup at 6:38. It's now 7:05 pm and I still don't have food ready for pickup, not the first time I've been through this but you would think they would figure out the timing by now. No reason I should have to wait 25 minutes for something I ordered 20 minutes prior to arriving. Plus it seems like they made some of my food and it's been sitting in the cold waiting for the other stuff I ordered to be done. Plus after waiting that long they didn't apologize about the long wait. Don't order online and save yourself some time by giving some other restaurant your hard earned money. Plus I asked for 1 molita without onions and it came loaded with them. Not sure how this place can still be open when they haven't been able to get things together in 6 months. Wife had a couple of fries in her flautas and that the chicken wasn't seasoned, she said that costco sells better flautas that you can make at home. Wish I could make a bad review for this place each time I've had bad service but Google only...
