The service was fast friendly and efficient. There was a steady flow of customers. I paid 18.21 for Western burger extra patty and large fry. Fries were well cooked and salted, imo they seemed to be fried in clean oil i tasted the oil pretty strong. That's just me. i don't always taste oil, so it stood out to me i still ate half of them. As far as the burger, the bun was on point. BBQ sauce was very well portioned and tasty, maybe baby rays. The onion rings there were 3, not really notable. i could barely taste them in there.3 sliced bacon weren't that thick or crispy or flavorful. The hamburger was bland and had little to no seasoning. I had to taste it alone to taste a slightly salted patty. The meat quality wasn't there for me wasn't bad at all but besides, a slight salt flavor there was no beef flavor detected. I totally am not unhappy with this place, nor am I impressed as I was truly hoping to be. A lot of people find this great and comfort food, and i can also not see why, it doesn't matter, of course. It's just my humble opinion. Restaurants that sell a lot of food for a long time have to keep it simple. This explains why I find it simple and okay. Lots of stuff on the menu, idk if I will try it again. I been in sacramento a long time if I had eaten it long ago. It probably it would churn up some old memories. I didn't, and it doesn't. Food truck vibe and flavor and quality. There's nothing wrong with food trucks. i love some. They are delicious, too. Don't let the homeless camps and screaming bums scare you away...
Read moreHave you ever been back to one of those old places you used to love and wondered if it's really as good as you remembered it?
Full of nostalgia, I decided to get some food for my family while I happened to be running through this side of town.
I placed a pretty decent sized order only to realize they only take cash. I told the cashier I'd be back, went to get cash, came back and my order was done. She still cooked it for me even though I left and hadn't paid, because I told her I'd be back!
My double chili cheeseburger was great. It lacked the preservatives taste a lot of fast food has and the fries were incredible, I could have easilyeaten another basketor two. Even the old school malted shake was just as good as I remembered it.
I don't even know how old this place is. It's clearly ancient as I went there as a kid more than 25 years ago.
Sure, they don't take credit/debit and the place doesn't look fancy. Look at the menus plastered all over the windows and you might even feel a bit overwhelmed trying to decide. In the end, this place is a diamond in the rough. One of the last classic style places still going strong. More importantly, the food is worthy of the nostalgia that...
Read moreI ordered chicken strips and a large root beer float today. The root beer float was 2 small sips of rootbeer and an entire cup of ice cream. The chicken was flaccid, limp, flavorless, and of the poorest quality (Comparable to jail food). The fries were pre-frozen crinkle cut fries, that we didn't even get a handful of. Instead, the merchant attempted to make the tray look fuller by adding 2 pieces of bread at the bottom. Very creative 🤔
I've been here a few different times because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But after each visit, I was left more and more disappointed.
Their meat products (both chicken and the burger patties) are bottom of the barrel. Produce comes wilted and sloppy. They charge 50 cents per sauce, knowing good and well that their food is inedible without it. Their Chilli is water based, the cheese on their Chilli cheese fries is kraft cheese slices. The soda is watered down. And the service, don't even get me started.. If I could give this place a...
