Oh wow, went from loving this place for the past 20 years we’ve lived here to will never eat here again.
Sent my daughter to get some sandwiches. Ended up getting one hot instead of cold and rung up and given a whole instead of a half. Three separate times the workers asked and she confirmed that they were both cold sandwiches. Very strange, because mine was definitely hot and if any were handling the sandwich it would be clear it was hot. Also, they didn’t give her a receipt, but she remembered the total and I thought it was a little high. That’s when we realized they gave her a whole instead of a half.
I called and the manager/owner offered different things and I originally chose the refund since it’s not super close. Then after some complications she said she couldn’t do a refund for apple pay. At that point my daughter insisted on going back even though it’s like 10 minutes away. I really didn’t want the hot sandwich so i was fine with that. I also asked for a refund for the difference of the half vs whole, which she finally figured she could do cash. After all that I asked if she could do something nice to make up for all the extra effort on our part. Seems pretty logical if a business messes up and causes all the extra effort on our part they should want to make up for that inconvenience. She talked circles and essentially said no. During this time she was completely hung up on “looking at the cameras,” being really petty. I said if you need to look at the cameras go ahead. I also offered to return the wrong food that was made to prove I wasn’t trying to pull a fast one since she seemed so hung up on everything and uptight. She said they couldn’t accept it due to health code (I mean you can just throw it away). I was annoyed at this point due to how ridiculous this all was and that she clearly didn’t care about the level of inconvenience this caused due to their errors. I said my piece and we ended the call.
Here’s where things get really petty and insane on her part. She called me back! Not to smooth things over, but to say she looked on the cameras and the worker held up a whole bread and said “whole“ and my daughter said yes. When my daughter got home she said she thought he said half. To be honest I highly question this lady’s credibility to have heard any audio, not that it should even matter this much. Since she felt the need to be this petty and thorough I asked her if she also viewed the part where my daughter was asked three different times if it was two cold sandwiches and each time my daughter confirmed yes. She didn’t want to talk about that apparently, she just said “we said we would remake it.“ And “sorry we made you a cold when you wanted hot”. I was like omg if she makes another hot sandwich, and kept correcting her saying, “please don’t make me another hot sandwich.” I feel like she was mad and messing with me at this point and wanted to screw it up again.
I’m not going to lie. I absolutely lost it by the end with her being so petty and said I intended on writing a review. She literally felt the need to call me to say my daughter messed up and glossing over the fact that they at minimum made one big mistake on my sandwich and that it was a huge inconvenience. Off the bat I didn’t care that they messed up. I didn’t call mad. I didn’t get frustrated until she made this a whole ordeal and continued to be so over the top petty with no spirit of even making it right. And just to be clear, I have never asked for a refund before or a free sandwich. There was no grounds for this over the top difficult response. When I finally lost it she said don’t speak to me like I’m a child, said the woman who spoke to me like I was a lying child saying “I’m going to look at the camera.”
When my daughter got there for the remake she said to her, “please don’t write a bad review. We’re a mom and pop”. Oh brother. Maybe treat your customers like a nice little mom and pop would and don’t call your customers back to continue to be...
Read moreI just love their Turkey and cream cheese on a wheat roll. I always come in there wanting to try something else, but end up choosing the Turkey and cream cheese on a wheat roll. I guess by now you know I recommend the Turkey and Cream Cheese. Of course with cranberries.

I love this place. And I love the turkey and cheese on a roll. I wish I could say all the other sandwiches they make taste as good, but I've never eaten any of them. Everytime I go there I'm thinking I'll try something else, but I end up ordering the Turkey and cheese .. Read moreFor anyone originally from the Bay Area, this location is the closest I've seen prepare the sandwiches to the original location in San Mateo. Brings me nostalgic vibes from high school days. Different names on the menu but same sandwiches (the original location used to name the sandwiches after local high school mascots.)
Staff are friendly and work as efficiently as possible when putting together a sandwich. Rushing a process like that, you can expect a messy product, so patience on our part helps out a lot. If not, you can always order for pick up.
One of the few places I don't mind tipping generously. I order from here every couple weeks and the consistency is noted.
