New to Sac and looking for good pizza. Google points me to Round Table and I give them a shot. I ordered online for delivery. These guys are a little pricey but they had a promotion for $10 off an order over $25. This discount brought them down to reasonable. I ordered a large pizza and some buffalo wings.
Pizza C+: This pizza is a good sauce away from being an A. The crust was good. It was crispy and well cooked. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. The sauce though needs some work and brings down the pizza overall. It tastes like a simple tomato paste crushed tomato blend with very little seasoning. A cup of this and a dash of that in this sauce would go miles to making this some great pizza. I know some recipes that would compliment your crust if you want(I am a career culinarian, which is not a real word..yet).
Wings D: Maybe I got unlucky here. The wings themselves are a touch over standard size and were cooked well. They just had zero sauce on them. Maybe this is standard and they just season the wings themselves but even then they did not have much flavor. As a wing conisure, I would give them an F if it was not for their size and them being properly cooked.
Service A+: Reading other reviews here this seems to be these guys biggest knock. Since I ordered online I cannot comment on their folks phone answering abilities or ediquet. My order arrived in about 30mins and whoever brought it to me was extremely pleasant. A+++ for the delivery guy(tall African American early 20's w short hair Sun. 7/29 9:30pm just in case they want to give him some credit)
Decor is a 2 because I cannot dock them for something I did not see.
Over all I was not impressed. If I had to pay regular price I would be even more disappointed. I will end up giving these guys another shot at some point just to see if I caught them on an off day or if I got their standard. I will post my findings at that time. I hope it is...
Read moreIt's easy to point out the negativity of an establishment, but when you make it obvious that you don't care about the appearance, then you (supervisor/Manager) make it that much easier got that coming. Now I will say that the food is still good, and in the past 3 months. The appearance of the dining area has been the same. Dirty. Tables full of pizza trays, napkins, plates, soda cups. And not just 1 or 2 tables. And you can expect to see at least 6-8 tables like this. On my last visit, there were 11 dirty tables and stayed that way during my visit as I ate. And no, it wasn't busy or a line of people, I am not trying to get the attention of the staff or general manager. It's obvious. I am writing so that if you, a paying customer, decide to come in for lunch or dinner, then you won't be shocked. I worked at this particular store, back when there was a juke box, and as a supervisor, I would have never let anything get out of control, even on a busy night like a Friday, I even had my manager catch up on some tables because we were all a team. Customer service was a priority since that's what keeps the doors open. Just hope it turns around, but at least the food is made to order, made correctly, and I still enjoy it....
Read moreMy brother and his wife were visiting from Virginia. They moved away from here 14 years ago and specifically wanted Round Table pan pizza even though we offered to take them to any restaurant they wanted. It took 45 minutes to arrive which is completely acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was they delivered a thin crust pizza. When we contacted the restaurant we were told that instead of bringing us the correct pizza, we would have to drive it over to them, then they would start a new one. I have never heard of such a thing! What is the purpose of having a pizza delivered, waiting for 45 minutes and then being told we would need to drive there, and after they verify it was wrong, they would make a new one. Obvious we will never order from them again and will share this experience every time someone brings up...
