I just had the absolute definition of what fried okra, greens, and catfish should be! We stopped at Rite Spot for lunch, and even though all the reviews mentioned their amazing tacos (and after eating here, I have no doubt those are fab, too) I am so glad I went with the catfish! Perfectly breaded, seasoned, and fried without being greasey in the slightest. The greens were tender and flavorful, and almost a meal unto themselves when I sopped up the liquor with the GIGANTIC slab of cornbread I was given! Exceptional service. Delicious food. Probably one of the CLEANEST restaurants I’ve ever patronized. I ate the fried flour taco with beef. I poured their special hot sauce on them, and it was an instant satisfactory taste. I also tried the philly steak sandwich with chicken. It was good, but it wasn’t a traditional philly with hoagie bread. They use Texas toast instead. Again, it was delicious. I also tried their chocolate chip cookies. They were crunchy and delicious. I was actually going in for the first time and was kind of misplaced... nothing racial here... my boyfriend and I were the only white people in there... but that made no sense after we had the food. This place is tiny but has the most unbelievable food that a fat kid like myself could want! The customers were super super friendly and the KoolAid was pretty awesome as well! I am definitely telling people that just because it is tiny and is kind of outside the norm... this place is worth! I have no fear going into Saginaw now because of this restaurant.
