Out for a birthday dinner w the parents. My wife ordered seafood pasta, my father in law ordered lasagna, as did my mother in law. Both parents complained that the top of the lasagna was overcooked and hard (my mother in law complained to me, but powered through it). My wife complained that the ravioli skins were hard, no soft consistency at all. She ate the shrimp and the seafood stuffing, but did not want to wait for another plate.
Upon paying of the bill, no plates were comped. The manager had made a table visit asking us what he could do to make our experience better. I guess in his language that meant "we" should have told him to comp the meal. My wife paid the check, and, after seeing her plate still on the menu, Circled it and wrote in the tip section that the waiter should get the money for the pasta.
I took the parents out to the car, to which other mother in law discussed the event w the manager. The began to argue about the process of him handling the table. He really felt we should have told him how to handle the issue.
After walking the parents to the car, I didn't have the keys, and went back to the restaurant to get the keys from my wife. It seems the manager has seen the lack of tip, and was coming out to confront me, meeting half way between the parking lot at the door. I didn't know at this time thst my wife had stiffed the waiter. The manager asked again what he could have done better, I told him he had 2 out of 5 plates complain, and I would have comped the pasta. He repeated that he asked us what he should have done. I told him that management response is up to management. He then tells he doesn't appreciate a 200.00 bill getting his staff no tip. I told him that was his .anafement problem.
I don't usually give reviews, but I absolutely feel ownership and the general public need to know how this guy manages. I have managed food and beverage, I don't believe higher clientele pay for experiance they are dissatisfied with. I know the front of the house (wait staff) pays for failures from the back of the house (kitchen). That's why you have managers. The fact this guy came out to chase me down amazed me. Especially after him and his staff made us pay full price. Bad mgt...Not goin back if he is still there.
