I want to preface by saying this review is not related to the food. We did not even have the chance to try the food.
Went there with my mom(who is celiac and gets extremely sick by gluten) after being highly recommended by a few people. When we went to order I asked if the corn tortillas were gluten free and if the meats were; assuming they’d say yes since Mexican food is usually the safest for gluten sensitive people. To which the lady at the window looks at me kinda confused and dazed and after a second says nothing really is gluten free here. I question her asking how that could be the case for the corn tortillas, and if every single one of the meats uses a seasoning that has some form of gluten(which to be fair is possible). She then just shrugs and stares at me like I’m an alien. Then proceeds to say the veggies might be gluten free, which would make no sense assuming they’d be cooked on the same grill as the rest and likely use the same seasoning. I then said that doesn’t quite make sense then she just stared at me waiting for me to order or not instead of maybe asking the kitchen or manager who was right beside her if this was the case.
Ive worked in a good amount of restaurants and do currently work in restaurants. I’ve never seen this level of incompetence in regards to food safety and food allergen information. Generally this is the first thing you teach your staff, especially the ones in charge of taking orders and answering questions. It’s incredibly dangerous first off, if we did decide to get the veggie tacos and they had gluten my mom would have gotten deathly ill. Second, it’s 2025…this isn’t an uncommon allergen or request, it’s probably one I deal with at least once a day at every place I’ve ever worked. So to not be gluten friendly or at minimum knowledgeable is just losing then business.
If the owner reads this, which I hope he does, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about your establishment and your food, but that being said plz train your staff on this for the safety of your customers and for the better well being of...
Read moreProbably some of the worst tacos I’ve EVER had! I’m sitting outside their establishment right now, extremely disappointed. I should have taken pictures for proof. I just ordered their “cart tacos” “luxury style” and it was mainly corn tortillas and red onion! 4 tacos for $13+. Not only were the corn tortillas smaller than what’s considered “street tacos size” the tortillas were roughly a little bigger than a half dollar coin piece 😳 but when I opened my “luxury style” tacos, they were mainly red onion with cilantro, and the tiniest amount of shredded chicken. One of the tacos only had one small piece of meat, smaller than half the size of my pinkie finger! The other 3, roughly about the same as the first. I figured they must of missed putting the “protein” in one of my tacos and was a mistake. Nope, all 4 tacos were about the same amount of meat. Hardly anything! The majority of these tacos were red onion. My gf ordered their carne asada fries and specifically asked for NO ONION AT ALL. Welp, the whole top layer of her tiny carne asada fries boat, was ALL red onion! Luckily she’s not allergic, or I would have thrown them back thru their serving window. All for the blatant disrespect and lack of F’s given! Come on guys! Try harder next time! We just paid $25+ dollars for a handful of onions and basically no meat. From one business owner to another, your portion sizes suck! I’m better off going to Taco Bell and ordering off their dollar menu! And Taco Bell’s “el carbon” tacos are 10x’s better tasting, and at a fraction of the cost! Very VERY...
Read moreThis is simply a Tex-Mex taco/burrito stand with a an outdoor eating area on the side. There’s only one counter to order, so the line is often long and wraps around the side of the building. There are a few parking spaces to the right and in front, but most people tend to walk here.
Pros
Cons
I really wanted to like this place because it’s so convenient and has so many yummy options to choose from. But the foods just didn’t hit the spot for me. I might still give it another shot and order something else next time. Maybe more...
