Luna's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Francis

This is thee most unprofessional establishment I have ever been to, it’s almost unrealistically bad. I went last night and had so many different servers, that I still don’t know who my server was. The wait alone to just place an order was almost an hour keep in mind the place was not even close to being full. The waitresses were rude and at the end quite literally threw the check book on the table at my boyfriend. The service was just extremely terrible. I went again this morning for the benefit of the doubt and because its close to my home with a friend for lunch and they literally swindled me out of money. They separated our checks but still charged me for the whole meal, all the while not charging my friend for her horchata. I got a taco lunch special for $7.50 and a small pitcher (I drank 75% of the pitcher at 135lbs and lets just say if they had even close to enough tequila in it this review wouldn't exist) for $22 .

I called to place an order Tuesday may 11th and was told the kitchen is down for some reason and was excited because I hear good things about the restaurant, the lady I spoke with says call us tomorrow Wednesday may 12th and they'll be back up and running as normal and she was very kind and sorry she couldn't take an order from me so what did I do waited until Wednesday may 12th to order and my kids myself and my husband are very excited that she is about to take my order and she mention it'll be a little wait for the order which we were totally ok with until I was placed on hold for 5 minutes again not a big deal until I finally placed my pick up order and told her everything I wanted and at the end of the conversation I asked what are you thinking for time she says let me check in with the kitchen comes back not even 10 seconds later and says the kitchen says 2 hours for your food. HUH 2 hours????? Had I known when she said a little wait I never would've placed the entire order. That time I sat on the phone I couldn't placed an order with someone else. I understand places get busy especially with them having to shut down the day before but to tell me it's a little wait and wait till the end to say 2 hours before I can pick up my order. Disappointing, I asked is it usually this busy on Wednesday she says yes because of the buy 1 get 1 free margaritas. What exactly does the kitchen have to do with margaritas? I'm not going to give up on Lunas and the young lady I spoke with was very kind but she still needs to be aware of timing of when food is leaving...

We've called 4 different days now to order food, and every time, we got left on hold, and no one came back every time. And we sit and wait a 1/2 hour on speakerphone and watch t v so it's not like we weren't patient. When we hang up and try to call back, it's busy. We end up ordering Pizza Hut instead when they're open. The food is really good. The girls that work there are very nice, but they are disorganized. Update 06Feb. : We decided to go to the restaurant and have a beer and margarita while we waited for our order, instead of calling and picking it up. Have to admit that I was too quick to judge in some ways about this restaurant. I originally had a 2 star rating, but Have to give it 4 now, though. The girl who is working by herself was doing her best while it was busy. She maintained a great attitude the whole way. She said that the other girl could not get here because she had no ride from school and had to walk home, then walk to the restaurant. These kids really try, and they care a lot. This restaurant is out of the way, located basically in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I'm sure it's not easy to attract job applications in the middle of a school year either. The food is 5 stars. Old school, authentic Mexican chef in back. She simply just knows her stuff. She clearly does not cut corners on ingredients. You gotta use the good stuff to make good food.
