Dave's Bbq LLC — Restaurant in Saint Marys

Gave em 2 stars because we didn’t “hate” this place. (I DO hate leaving bad reviews, but they’re left to help, right?) But, read on. We’re travel for work & are new to the area, and both cook well-including wood-fire bbq, with our own rubs, with or without homemade sauce. The meat flavor should shine. One person was getting take out before us, so being busy wasn’t an issue. We ordered a rack of ribs, an order of brisket, and a half chicken. Ironically, the chicken was repeated back to us, to which we confirmed. $58+. Decent price, if the food is. After the 30min ride back to the camper, this is what we got (not included in pic was 3 small bags of chips). Not included in the bag was 1/2 chicken. Before we drove away, I even went back to add to the tip jar, nobody said “hey, you forgot something”, like they did with the local, before us. Shame on me for thinking I didn’t need to check the order. Then, there’s the food. It was..ok. Didn’t seem like there was much prep work done. No flavor-even just salt & pepper accents the flavor of the meats. As does the wood. There was no tasty smoke ring. With sauce, and some of the crispy fat, the brisket was ok. The vinegar was heavy in the beans, too. The ribs were tough, the membrane was still there, and the edges were crusty & hard. Not even sauce helped them. Most got tossed. The slaw wasn’t my husband’s fave (a matter of opinion-KFC rules) but I eat this kind, though the cabbage was soggy. Being hungry, we ate most of what we left with. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but for the price, missing chicken & quality, we’ll try somewhere else, till we get...

The food is good, however I'm only rating 3 stars because of the service I received. After days of calling and leaving messages, I was finally able to reach Dave. I wanted to pre-order for a surprise party for my dad because he liked the food a lot. I asked to pre-order, but he refused. I went the day of the party as he said. He told me that I should've pre-ordered. He acted like he didn't want to sell me the food and I was putting him out. He was rude. He even told me he wasn't sure who I had spoke to that told me this, I guess he forgot I asked his name when on the phone. I wanted shredded pork, which I did get, but I also wanted ribs, but he didn't have any as he previously stated he would. Fat Kid BBQ is amazing and I've always had...

I hate to give this place A bad review because I love Dave and he’s great but the service tonight was terrible. Ordered online, got a txt 25 minutes ago that my food is ready…. Been sitting here waiting for 15 minutes for my cheesballs and another 10 on my fries (so far, still waiting.)

As I was Writing this review, he walked up with my fries, or what I thought were my fries. He apologize because he gave us a second order of cheeseballs instead of my large order of fries. it has now been 30 minutes and I’m not waiting longer for my fries when I have brisket that is getting cold in my car.

This did not feel like it was worth 30 dollars after all of this waiting. They shouldn’t be drinking on the job if they cant get...
