Don Julio's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Paul

We had Don Julio’s for a late lunch on their opening day today. The service was stellar and the food was delicious. So excited Winfield finally has a great (Mexican) restaurant! The menu has good variety and at our table we had a combination of beef and chicken burritos, nachos, and quesadillas, as well as FIZZY, ice-cold Pepsi which complimented the zesty salsa and chips with cheese dip (the queso had a nice kick to it). The servers were all friendly and despite being SUPER busy (opening day, of course) they all seemed to be handling it with skill and charm. The owners clearly value family and the family friendly atmosphere was so refreshing. The staff was so attentive, and the food is fantastic! The owners really put their heart and soul into the dishes and the atmosphere. The colorful canvas images showcasing the family history and processing of agave plants, add such a special touch. And those enchiladas oaxaquenas with the mole oaxaca sauce perfected by the heart of the family...wow! With such a wide variety of drinks and entrees, it's definitely a place worth going back to. The environment is so comfortable and relaxed, and everyone is treated with such graciousness. I truly admire Don Julio's Mexican Restaurant for staying true to their roots and sharing their passion for food. Their teamwork will surely ensure a bright future for them.

We have gotten our lunch a few times a week from here sense it opened we spend probably a couple hundred bucks a week and everything was awsome the first couple months then the food quality went downhill the refried beans taste like third dumped out of a can and not cooked the rice. Doesn’t have any flavor and if you order something a certain way like without lettuce or guacamole and then when you pick up and get back to the job site and the order is wrong and cant bring it back up till after work they act like it’s your fault so we will start getting our lunches from somewhere else.
