We just got thrown out of this Subway. The owner had a complete meltdown over the recently directed St Petersburg mayor’s social distancing capacity reductions. We walked in, the restaurant was crowded and half of their dining room was closed off. So that we did not have to sit close to others, we asked if we could sit in the closed dining area. The manager refused and said they were complying with the law. I complained there was not 6’ of separation for social distancing. I started taking pictures. The manager said she was calling the owner and the police.
The owner must have been nearby because he arrived in a couple minutes. So I told him the same as the manager. He got mad at me and threw us out of the Subway. I asked him to refund our food. He refused. Outside he told us this virus and all the H1N1 stuff is a crock. Now he was shouting four letter words and flipped me off. He said he is complying with the law. I bet if I spoke to St Petersburg city officials, they would agree this tight congregation is not what they intended to see happen.
Considering all the 70+ people behind us ordering sandwiches, he is more concerned with “complying with the law” than using common sense with the older patrons that live all around his restaurant.
I called the St Petersburg Mayor’s office after the owner’s meltdown. The office said the directive was not intended to congregate people closer as was happening in this Subway. They also said restaurants were not closing off dining areas to ensure patrons were “spread out.”
This owner was way out of line and I asked the city to call him and correct this close...
Read moreMy family and I decided to stop by this location on our way back home and I am simply appalled at the behavior we had to witness. We were helped by a very efficient African-American lady but our service took a sour turn. The women at the front [can't remember her name] was working by herself while her 2 other male workers were sitting idly by chit chatting. The employee helping us finished ringing us up and then asked her other co-worker, Chris, to come help the next customers because her shift had ended 5 minutes ago. Chris' behavior after this was absolutely disgusting. His exact words were "can't you see I'm busy talking here, get back to work." He followed by apologizing to us on his co-workers "awful customer service." Chris not only failed to uphold company policies, he blatantly disrespected his co-worker IN FRONT of customers. I guarantee that you'll lose future customers over his deplorable behavior. I would highly suggest removing this disrespectful worker from your company. As a store manager myself, I would be appalled to have an employee like him representing my company...

I asked for a manager and she told me she was. I WILL be going to Talk to the franchise owner on this GROSS manor of disrespect. I will NEVER buy from this subway ever again! I WILL be taking this...
