I decided the best way to celebrate PI day was to stop and grab a few things of pie. The store prices have always been high, a whole slice of pie is about 1/4 of a whole pie. The quality used to be high enough to justify the price.
However, a half slice is approximately 1$ cheaper than a āwhole slice.ā BUT donāt worry, you can buy a whole pie for roughly 38-40$.
Between the pies I wanted they were out of most. The blackberry crumble IS good and the only saving Grace to my review, but some of the berry seeds were so hard it was hard to chew at time. Itās berries and sometimes you canāt avoid that.
NOW when I say I was super sad over a chocolate creme pie, I was sad. It would have been better to have taken that money and bought a store bought chocolate creme pie⦠I could have bought a few for the price I paid actually AND store bought would have provided better quality.
Most businesses also offer military discounts around St. Robert / Waynesville, especially small businesses⦠not A Slice of Pieā¦..
My final cherry on the cake here is the store is SUPER small. You had customers on top of each other as if they were trying to pile into a crowded subway⦠we were all there for the same reason, PI Day.
They DO have fancy displace cabinets that have signs to please not lean on themā¦. But they only had a single pie in there... The remaining pies are in the back corner in large refrigerators.
I would have said I would save for a splurge and special events, but from now own I think this household will have to find something else.
Edit/Update:
I held onto a the chocolate creme pie in hopes of I could eat it later. I finished the other pie and said well Iāll try it again. From the time I bought it 3 days had gone by. I assumed the whipped topping had gone bad because it tasted SOUR and I scraped it off. I dug into it and the chocolate pie itself had gone bad that it was CURDLING UP like cottage cheese. A āfreshā pie would NEVER go that bad THAT fast in 3 days.
Never again. Downgrading my 2 stars...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOMG! Buttermilk pie (just right... not overly sweet, as can sometimes be - crust is spot on), and also the Cherry Rasberry (great fruit flavors... not just sweet) Amazing slices and a little break during the day. This is a business that I hope the community gets out and supports. Pie and a cup of coffee... what a great midday break.
Decor is clean... but needs a little bit of life and character... a business so great needs a little invested into the experience and atmosphere.
Staff... Draydon... an amazing and courteous gentleman just trying to grow a business and provide an enjoyable experience... well done!
Don't let this business fail... get out and support your community small businesses!
All you travelers... take the time to stop and try this place... you will not be disappointed! Parking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location is absolutely horrendous!! I ordered a slice of American Apple pie and was charged a total of $10.05. When I got home I saw a rather small portioned piece of pie with mold. Absolutely not worth what I paid. I called the establishment to let them know what I received and was told they would refund me and give me a slice of pie for my trouble. I drove back out to their location and I was only offered my money back only. How is this even acceptable?? I had to drive 15 minutes from my home to their location and then back another 15 minutes . Not a good way to conduct business. Too bad for them, because I teach a little over 100 personnel each year and I know where Iāll be telling...
