The Magellan — Restaurant in Saipan

Expensive.

95% of the food has fish or shellfish in it - even when not indicated on the food label. I'm amazed seafood allergies aren't taken into consideration, but to be fair - 95% of the customers are from various Asian cultures where seafood and shellfish are common.

Very spacious. Very busy most of the time.

Pay up front, grab a plate, get your food, and pick a table. Tables are preset with napkins, forks and knives. Staff are always moving around bussing tables, replenishing utensils.

Breakfast - an assortment of muffins, pastries, eggs, freshly made waffles and pancakes, salad, a few rice and pasta dishes, baked potatoes, bacon, coffee, juice, etc.

Lunch / Dinner - salad, potato and pasta salads (with fish), soup, chowder, pastas (with prawns and oyster sauces), freshly cooked cuts of chicken and meat, coffee, juices, sodas, and an ice...

Not sure what's going on at the formerly best buffet on Saipan. Prices have gone up, quality has gone way down. The pork ribs were cut in a strange way and very pink as though not fully cooked. As for the rest, the food was poorly seasoned or very sweet. It also seems as though they are trying to save money on air-conditioning. The place was packed and it was borderline humid and hot. Not really worth the money...

매일 음식이 조금씩 변경되지만 고정된 메뉴가 있다. 음료와 주류가 계속 제공되며, 점심과 저녁에는 아이스크림도 제공이 된다. 아침식사시에는 씨리얼이 제공된다. 식당이 커서 자리가 많이 있지만 그만큼 멀리앉으면 뷔페 바까지의 거리가 멀어진다. 마감시간이 되면 음식을 치운다고 하지만 빨리 치우지는 않으니 미리 음식을 받아 두는 것이 좋다. 맛은 괜찮은 편이다. 또한 이곳에서는 생일 축하 노래를 해 준다. 전통공연을 하는 날에는 파빌리온 연회장에서 운영을 한다.

아침 : 매일 메뉴가 조금씩 바뀌고 음식의 맛도 괜찮습니다. 빵이 맛있고 아침에만 있는 메뉴가 있어요. 9시까지 운영합니다.

점심 : 선데이브런치는 꼭 가라는 말을 들어서 꼭 가봤는데 현지인들도 많이 오고 메뉴도 다양했어요. 생일잔치를 많이 하더라고요. 일요일 아니어도 점심에 메뉴가 아쉽다는 느낌은 없었습니다. 다른 요일에도 점심에는 생일잔치를 많이 하더군요.

체크아웃 하는날 계란후라이 하던 곳에서 햄버거 만들어 줬는데 볼품없는 빵, 패티와 치즈지만 국내 버거킹보다 맛있었습니다. 더 먹고 싶지만 집에 와야 해서 못먹었어요. 매일 나오지는 않았습니다.

저녁 : 일반적인 저녁 뷔페이지만 메뉴도 매일 조금씩 바뀌고 좋았습니다. 주류를 무한제공해주네요.

파빌리온 : 불쇼를 보기위해 야외에서 진행하는 마젤란에 다른 메뉴가 좀 줄고 고기 메뉴가 늘어나는 것 같습니다. 하지만 야외이다 보니 마젤란의 쾌적함은 없고, 자리가 부족합니다. 입장하면서 자리를 안내 받고 음식을 받지만 모든 인원이 동일한 시간에 오다보니 음식을 자리에 놓고 먹을 수 있기까지 시간이 많이 걸렸습니다. 다른 식당을 운영하지 않고 파빌리온에서만 하다보니 사람이 몰려 음식이 빨리 소진되다 보니 고기는 덜익기도 하고 없기도 하였습니다. 불쇼를 보지 않을 거라면 사람이 빠진다음에 가는 것도 좋을 것 같아요.
