R Place on 590 — Restaurant in Salem Township

Sadly one of the worst meals I’ve had. Let’s talk about the 2 positives-the waitress was friendly and efficient. The drinks were good. The wings were decent at best. Now for the bad…the food was close to inedible. The long wait time for excruciating especially with a toddler. The French onion soup was cold and had a sweet taste. One spoonful was more than enough. The steak was undercooked (had to be sent back to put back on the fire) and was 90% fat and super salty. The porkchops (on their specials for the night) was a medley of sweet apples and poor quality undercooked chops-again one bite was more than enough. The Mac and cheese was sore bought boxed and watery. The chicken fingers were over cooked. The adult grilled cheese-the toasted bread was hard as a rock and the medley of cheese was unexpected (unpalatable) and not even melted. That sandwich came with some sort of chip. They were burnt and had zero taste. $109 bill plus the tip was surely a waste of hard earned money. Perhaps going there for a few drinks and to watch a game is what this place is good for but a place to bring the family for a meal-no, never again. There are much better choices to eat...

My wife and I decided to drive a short distance from home tonight and celebrate our anniversary here….WHAT A MISTAKE. I wish I was lying when I said it took an hour and 10 mins to get food… read that sentence again, and my wings were cold when brought to me. The waitress, who claimed to be a manager as well, (highly doubt it) had such an attitude on her that I’d be ashamed if I raised something like that. The whole experience was god awful. I wouldn’t recommend r place to anyone.. please avoid this nightmare of a place. Take the extra few miles and drive to Drafts sports bar near the hideout or basically anywhere else. As for r place… be proud you dissatisfied and poorly treated locals in your area who have been living here way longer than your awful bar/restaurant has existed. The service here is excellent; our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was great and the restaurant and bathroom is very clean. I was impressed. I can honestly say it's the best place I have been to in the last two months (on average i eat out twice a week)! I had the pork chop and it was thick, tender, juicy and flavorful. The sauce they put on top could have been thinner as that would have given it a better appearance to have the sauce oozing down the sides of the chop, instead of sitting on top as it was, but the sauce itself was delicious and complimented the dish very well. The chop was cooked to perfection and the garlic mashed potatoes were very good. The vegetable side dish (zucchini) was slightly overcooked, so a bit too soft as vegetables should have a snap to them, (especially zucchini), but my experience at "R Place on 590" was delightful.
