Update: I have changed my rating to a 3 star. Since my experience in the store I have recieved 3 separate phone calls. An associate that was in the store at the time called and apologized for the actions of his associate. I have also recieved calls from the assistant manager and district manager they were both concerned about what had happened and wanted to try to make it right. They assured me that the man I dealt with was no longer at that location and if I needed any assistance in the further to contact them. My experience was based on the actions of one individual who is no longer at that location. The managers do seem concerned about customer satisfaction and we're unhappy to hear about my experience. So I guess there may be hope for this location after all.
Do yourself a favor and go to a Verizon store not an authorized dealer. My experience in the Hamlin location was the worst. The associate I dealt with was rude & decieving. I went there to get a free phone upgrade that customer service told me I was eligible for. He talked me into switching plans because they did not have stock of the phone I was eligible to upgrade to on my current plan. After switching plans to get the better phone again no stock it had to be ordered. I got home found the pricing he gave me on the new plan was not what I was told plus he added insurance on the phone I did not authorize. When I went to pick up the phone that was ordered he tried to give me a different phone saying the promotion was no longer available on the phone that was ordered under my account and if I wanted that phone there would be a monthly charge. When I refused feeling even more decieved I was told to leave the store. I expect to get what I was told and offered. I am now having to deal with Verizon customer care and even they told me he was rude to them. I am not one to leave reviews but my experience was so bad I felt the need. It would be 0 if the option was there, I made multiple phone calls to the store and Verizon in regard to why I was being charged for the cost of apple watches that were included with a promotion for new phones, Verizon blamed the store stating the store did not have authorization for that plan. The store manager said she would handle it and call me back,......crickets....no return calls made. My next phone call to the store manager I was told that she is having issues getting the billing issue fixed through Verizon. In the end I was forced to pay for everything. On 2/05 2024 the Verizon rep called the store while I was on the other line and was hung up on also. he has escalated this matter to his superiors. this billing issue has been ongoing since Nov of 2022. Be sure to check everything before leaving on your account app to make sure the dollars match and go several hours before closing when upgrading ( I went an hour and a half before but this stuff takes long) The sales associate was quoting numbers for a promotion and then when the store closed, I looked at my account and the per month charge for the Apple Watch was double of what I was informed. Along with an activation fee that was not disclosed for the watch ( the phone activation fee was). Lastly, now I have to swallow a 50$ restock fee since the sales rep used deceptive practices to upsell. I am all for working hard and upselling but, donât lie to people to get a quick one off. Donât make the same mistake I did!!
