Donuts-Apple fritter: first bite was really good, after that it was fine. Jelly doughnut- Soft dough, jelly center is good, doughnut batter.... Eh... Then Yuck! Same with the doughnut hole jelly fill. Was too afraid to eat anymore... Ended up throwing the rest away and going somewhere else for my son's birthday doughnut. These were my other children's reactions (teens).
Atmosphere- wasn't busy at all, clean, well stocked, friendly (see above), but one thing made it impossible for me to eat any and any after that either... The Smell.... Now it's not necessarily a bad smell. It's a very strange sweet smell, my kids noticed it, too. They would give you a different description, though. My daughter who had the jelly fill said her doughnut tasted like the smell of the place. I walked in and was fine and when I got in there I was okay, but started to feel weird. It made me not want a doughnut. By the time we left and got in the car I started to feel sick. Nauseous. I started burping a lot and ended up having to lay down when I got home. I don't understand why the experience was so bad. I've been to other doughnut places and have never felt this way. I hope it's just me, but I don't think I will ever step in there again if I can avoid it. I know I won't be able to go to a doughnut shop for a while. Good luck to any who visit, maybe you will have a better visit.
Reviews- I was very skeptical about going here after reading the reviews. When I noticed how wonderful the staff treated us I decided I should write one because apparently they fixed that issue, at least for the time of day we went 3pm. The man at the window took down our order wrong I asked for 2 double biscuits and gravy and he came back with a very small container I was confused as soon as he handed to me I thought maybe they made them smaller now ? So I asked him if this is the new double buiscuts ? And he said no thatās the single. A girl came to the window trying to help resolve I explained I didnāt order this I donāt want it . She let me know since I didnāt hand it back to him he charged me for it Iām trying to hand it to her and I told her yeah I just donāt want this I donāt need it lol I tried to give it to him and she let me know heās saying I ordered that. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason I'm compelled to write this review is because when I came in on Thursday night around 8:30, December 12th, 2024, I thought the customer in front of me reeked of cigarette smoke. After they left, the store still smelled like smoke. I finally asked the cashier as I was ordering my donuts if they smelled cigarette smoke everywhere. They shook their head yes, pointed to the back, and said "someone's smoking back there." They had a look on their face like they couldn't do anything about it. The smell was disgusting for a place selling donuts, but it was even more disgusting to imagine the dynamic between the employees and the front counter person not being able to do anything about it.
I thought the owner should know themselves so I looked them up, but I couldn't find a simple way to contact them. They can do what they want with whoever was smoking in the back of the restaurant on this night, but I will never order again from this place. I hope the owner can understand why. The person in the back is probably the person making the donuts. If an employee doesn't understand such a basic rule exists, they shouldn't be working there.
