KFC — Restaurant in Salem

I'm editing a previous review (EXTREMELY NEGATIVE) from a few years ago. This was while the buffet was still alive so it's safe to say it's pre-Covid era. The quality of food had taken a steady, sharp decline, more than inedible. Absolutely atrocious would've been an understatement!! I can remember our failed attempts that day with the hunks of potato paste and flakes trying to make them into a food our kids could consume!? The many piece free meal sent to replace the hot dumpster fire wasn't even redeemed! Flash forward to current day- my belly can't stomach fast food anymore from a few medical issues. When my family chooses the in town route, other restaurants than KFC just aren't a viable option for me. I could live off the pot pies, bowls, and concoctions I conjure with the sides to change things up. As for the testimony of an experience we had today tho. On the home front, we'd been working on a horse, a couple goats, etc with issues with the weather change. COMPLETELY FRUSTRATED!! Fast food, the solution. I pre- ordered my food online for KFC (the app is 👏🤝👌) Walk in and it's like a ghost town!?! Except for this rap music? 😩🥴 Looking around my daughter and I noticed 2 gentlemen vicariously working. 1 scrubbing stuff behind the counter, around the food, the other washing off tables and sweeping the dining area. Looking for my food, I hesitate to hear curse words from the radio, BUT I DON'T!!!? I start hear to God and the good Lord, and assume it's not used in the correct context. Sooo my daughter who's been having a trying day, begins to shuffle in the jams, strawberry of course. This younger man is listening to a hip hop song we looked up in the truck afterwards, that was called Family Man by Rare of Breed. Quite an inspirational song!! Please do not mistaken this for a religious reason or another, but that they weren't standing around on their phones, being non-productive, or even nonexistent. Very motivational. It's not often anymore you see those who TRULY are giving 110% and want to do the right thing. It says a lot for this store that at one point my dogs wouldn't eat their food! To add that my daughter has found another new Christian artist to listen to at her delicate stage in life, at an age when simply seeing grown ups listening to music about Christ being a bop as uplifting is a 100 star alone to me!!! Not once has my pot pie been burnt or nasty. My potatoes been flakes. The dogs even had the chance to taste if they're any better. Their hours are now later. The store has changed, for the better!! Placed an order in the app and paid for a local delivery service. When the driver gets there they have no chicken... At KFC. (Since I placed the order a little over an hour before closing I would assume they had no cooked chicken) He asked for a refund but they were unsure of how to do a refund. They talk the driver into taking substitutes. They send him with something not even close to equivalent and something in extra crispy that a disability will not allow me to eat. They didn't include other items that was supposed to been there, the biscuits were hockey pucks the fries were hard and cold little crumbs from the bottom of the bin, and the gravy was missing. The instant potatoes were spot on though. This was all the money I had on hand so there was no other dinner to be had. Hungry tummies all around. The delivery driver would not have even taken this junk had they had known how to refund. he was apologetic when he was pulling in the driveway because he knew this was unacceptable but they wouldn't work with him. They threw in a cake though, too bad I don't eat sweets, and so many people can't.... So I have a message out to kfc we shall see if customer service is anymore helpful that the staff at the store. "Well I found out what the secret ingredient is in the secret recipe fries, it's hair!!!! It took 3 tries to get my order correct. This is after sitting and waiting on it for 15 minutes after paying. Then find a hair in the bottom of my fries. You know when I only have 2 fries left. About as bad as finding a half a 🐛 in your 🍎.... Makes me wonder if I ate...

AVOID KFC in SALEM AT ALL COSTS!........ I placed an online order for an 8 piece meal. I picked it up and got it home and saw part of my order was wrong. I returned with the food and explained what happened and requested an item exchange, and they tried to tell what I ordered was correct. And then with a condesending and snarky tone he went on to say they could not exchange or swap out since I already took it out of the building. I asked why that was and he said "just company policy." I then told the worker "I'm sorry for any inconvenience I may be causing was simply requesting an item exchange." I was being polite and cordial through this (at least I thought I was), then person continued with an unprofessional and snotty attitude, which in turn I said "Sir, I don't appreciate how your are talking to me". Then he had the gall and nerve to say "If you want attitude I will just throw you out of here right now!" I then asked for the manager and he says "I AM the manager". I then asked for his manager/supervisor name and contact info. I only got the name and no contact info because "He didn't have the phone number or e-mail address" Current management staff need to be terminated and replaced! f this is how this specific KFC location treats other customers, then this place need to be AVOIDED ALL ALL COSTS! I know I won't EVER go back again!! I'd give ZERO stars...
