I went to the Thai Lotus for their opening night (May 2018). They were busy but I didn’t experience any delays. The menu had a bunch of different Thai dishes with pictures too, which helped because I wasn’t familiar with everything. I ordered the duck red curry with medium level spice (3/5). It was pretty spicy for me but had a very good flavor. It came with a side plate of white rice. Fried and brown rice options were also available for an additional charge. I ordered the mango sticky rice to take home for dessert. It was great, I really liked the sweet and salty combination.
The restaurant atmosphere was lively with modern Thai decorations. My server was very attentive and made frequent trips to refill my glass of water. Parking wasn’t an issue as there were plenty of spots on the street nearby. I would order both the red curry and sticky rice again. However, I’ll likely try something different next time just because there were a bunch of other items that looked really good. For example, I noticed that someone else ordered a dish that was served inside of...
Read morebeautiful interior. This location is the same as Sue's Thai Kitchen, which closed a couple years ago when the owner retired. We were so sad to lose a great Thai food restaurant , as others in the area were/are lackluster. We just discovered Thai Lotus moved in to the building, and they have massively renovated the interior. The waitress who served us was extremely polite and helpful, and our food was cooked extremely quickly, including both appetizers (calamari and crab Rangoon), the latter of which is absolutely the best we've ever had with the chilli sauce. As for the (chicken ) Pad Thai, the food portions are huge, the spice and flavor is incredible, and the Thai Tea tasted fresh and authentic. It's quiet there during lunch on a weekend but the slow business did not affect the quality of our food or service..I am so eager to return to try more of their menu, because the higher dollar prices are completely justified..if you're a fan of or new to Thai cuisine this is the...
Read moreThis is the best restaurant I've been to between Salem and Scott's burg for takeout. They have a very nice dining area but I've never eaten inside. We started ordering regularly about 3-4 months ago (Reynolds) and it is top notch every time. I've eaten an hour after bringing it home and the food was still piping hot. I've tried what feels like probably half the menu at this point and you really can't make any wrong choices here. Personally I prefer the Red Curry-- but all of the curry dishes are excellent. Big fan of the Tiger Garlic dish as well. The gentleman who hands me my food is always kind and welcoming and my food is always ready by the time I walk in. Portions sizes are great. There isn't much more to say, quite frankly they make some of the best food I've eaten in my entire life. If you're looking for something to eat in this area I don't think there's anywhere better than Thai...
