Tumbleweed Tex-Mex Restaurant — Restaurant in Salem

Never getting my favorite drink there again by what I experienced, I gotten the Tipsy Mermaid dozens of times. Thursday I was there for my bfs sisters birthday and I ordered my drink always on the rocks and it always came in a regular glass. First it came frozen which was fine but kind of odd since I saw the server literally write it down I know he didn't make it I knew it was the bartender, I had a new one made but it was made in the same margita glass the salt was on the sides dripping and barely any on the rim it was just dumped out the table rocked so it was spilling when people moved. I asked a server if I could go to the bar and just ask them to put it in a regular glass so I don't spill it more😂 I waited patiently just wanted it in a glass no big deal right, this bartender lady came at me with a full blown attitude with such a mean mug face with a what? I was like okay can I have this remade in a regular glass not a margita glass? At this point I didn't care I gave her attitude back cause thats how she wanted to act I told her I always get it in a glass everytime and she said "That's how I make it here I've been doing this for 20 something years blah blah" she slams a new cup on the counter then takes it behind the counter dunks it somewhere and there's my drink, like where the flip did she get that from really. And she had the salt in the drink itself and salt all over the cup and it's barely full. I know it's Tumbleweed but usually the drink is made in front of you not below the counter where you cant see it. Then she goes off on a rant I told her forget it and walked away like what just happened. Another server came up to me asked you know what happened and the server made me a new drink it was good. But then I got told by the same server "for future reference ask for a glass" so it was my fault 😂😂 the end. For one I always got it in a glass I never asked for it in a glass and now I have to lol. You know I wasn't gonna do a review but hopefully when they see this they may treat people with respect and not act like it's the end of the world...

We are there for last time, today 9-15-25, 17:29-18:30.;Server Matthew was awesome he is very careful oriented and professional 4 stars. They have new menu, and our go to food items have been changed. I have Severe Alpha Gal Syndrome so, it was close. Usually get Buffalo platter, with fries. We noted All the prices have been jacked 2-3$ right off. He said the tenders are bigger better, not as many but Great, he loves it. Salad came out had some hidden cheese shreds, no no. He said the salad station is a free for all, and it probably got few shreds in it, waiting. So sorry. So buffalo chicken comes out, 1/2: the normal fries on plate, tenders are bigger, but sauce different and thicker, red flag. Tasted it it tasted like mush, way too sweet. Our grandson that normally tears it up, was making faces. He said it was okay but weird, too... Wife tasted it, not thrilled. It is now basically a large mc nugget basted with what use to be Frank's hot sauce. Nothing close. The food label was like sugar, hi frutcose for syrup flours and natural flavorings. I had bombing head ache in 30 min. Got home cramping, blew up bathroom. They took real chicken tenders, nice crispy strips, gave less fries, bigger chicken patties and the, changed sauce., added 2-3$ per item. Normally I substituted side salad no cheese for the fies. Don't want any Bill Gates, bathtub chicken, for real. Nasty. Ate some of 1 patty, and got a side salad.... No waste of time and $$$$ it's officially over. Tmble weed 😮‍💨🙄🤢 go to DQ, you might feel like you got $$$ worth. Totally disappointed... 6 months another food chain ruined by corporate greed and pig slop. Won't be back.... Matthew was Great. Meal sucked......

My wife and I drive a truck. We were headed to Bloomington IN from Louisville KY looking for a Mexican restaurant to stop and eat. We saw a Mexican restaurant sign on our way into Salem IN then by plain luck we had to take the truck route bypass that brought us to this little gem Tumbleweed Tex Mex Grill. ( Not the one on the road sign ). So we whip in. We are greeted at the door by a young fellow that asked if we had our invitation? What invitation I thought? Well it was training in progress and only for family and guests. What a bummer. Then this real nice other fellow invited us in for dinner and states that tomorrow is the grand opening for their restaurant and wanted my wife and I as his guest saying that they would be no charge for dinner. WOW. Come to find out this guy is the VP of Operations Jeremy Sons what a super nice man. He didn't have to do that but he did, very very nice of him. Now our host comes to sit us her name is Justice very nice girl. Then our server Travis did is job very well and was on cue for everything. We were checked on by almost everyone in the restaurant. Melissa was one for sure, she talk to us for awhile, what a girl. Oh yea I should say something about the food. It was great, cooked and prepared like we wanted. It was so very good. Definitely stop by Tumbleweed Tex Mex Grll if in the area of Salem IN you won't be disappointed. Thanks to Jeremy and his wonderful staff for a great evening. My wife and I enjoyed it....
