Yangtze Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Salem

Quite frankly some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life. Catfish was improperly prepared and cooked, corners were cut on nearly every dish and the rice was drier than the Sahara desert. The ONLY thing done right was the General's chicken in which they did a very good job of covering up the base for the sauce thy used.

To be fair though the staff was nice and the place was very clean. That said, I could do better blindfolded. Also if you are going to AstroTurf your ratings like most of the ones above at least take the time to make them LOOK real.

One of the few times I have felt the urge to barf AFTER leaving an establishment. Not recommend unless you are literally about to die...

I really don't like buffets as a rule, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but it's what my husband likes, so I end up eating at more of them than I care to.

That being said, this place makes pretty dang good food. I think my favorite was the saffron/tumeric noodles. The people who work there know all the regulars by name, and that's how I know I will find some pretty decent food no matter where I go. Always go where the locals go. Service was top notch. I've only been here, about four times, but every time I go, it gets better, and better.

The food is always hot, they replace empty food trays, with more hot food right away.

The food is super delicious, and the customer service experience is wonderful.

If they see your cop running low, they'll refill it right away.

They don't mind answering your questions, they greet you with respect, and you'll leave with a good experience every time out, if you eat here.
