Little Cambodia — Restaurant in Salida

I like the food in this place and the service. People are friendly and kind. The food is tasting and healthy, from my view point. Usually, I go there for lunch once a week. I have experienced two inconvenient in this place in the past, but they were not so significant. But today, I felt that I had a good reason to post a review. As always, I ordered Chicken Pho #2, medium size. I like it a lot! When the gentleman brought the food to the table, his thumb was inside the soup. I said: Do not put your finger in the soup. That's disgusting and is a poor presentation for a restaurant. He replied: I'm sorry, my finger is clean.

And he left and went to the kitchen to share the situation.

Gentleman, your finger was not clean. Everything you touch is full of bacteria. Why do the people in Little Cambodia's kitchen wear gloves while serving the food? Think about that!

One suggestion: Never justify a wrong action or give the customer excuses that will never fix the situation.

I have worked as waiter in several restaurants. If that had been my case, I would have offered my apologies to the customer and would have replaced the food to a new one. Also, I would have said: How may I serve you better? Or give him a 10 or 20% discount on the order.

Owner / manager: Please, you need to train this gentleman in how to treat customers and how to bring food to the table.

when I walked into the restaurant there was only one person. I ordered and have been Waiting 35 minutes for a simple bowl of Pho for 1 person while I watched other people that came in after me sit and eat their food and many other people come in and get to go orders. I was told it's because the vegetables had to be prepped for my Pho. I could have went back there myself and cut the veggies up and been on my way home by now. Haven't even tasted the food yet and quite frankly, that's beside the point. I won't come back just because of the wait. I finally left after being told by the person behind the counter three times that I should have more patience and patience is a virtue. This is ridiculous. I highly suggest going to Sherpa cafe down the road as that's what I'll be doing from now on and I will never come to this...

The food was very good. I am from Denver and an active Pho advocate so I think my opinion of Pho is a little more critical, however, it was good. The reason for the 4 star rating is the overall set-up was off. The restaurant itself is a great location and nice tables and patio. It seems like they haven't quite figured out the ordering and delivering food to table process quite yet. Didn't seem like I was the only customer in the restaurant that felt this way. They also may not be staffed or have enough skills to produce the amount of food needed fast enough to provide for a filled floor and incoming to-go orders.

However it's a new restaurant and they are doing pretty well so far which is why I gave them 4...
