Mi Taqueria — Restaurant in Salinas

Taco trucks move aside!!! Had a couple of their meat only tacos (forgot to ask for cilantro and onion) and a couple of their shrimp tacos with extra spicy salsa. Oh man did they deliver!!! The salsa gave a satisfying kick that made me eat it slower than I normally would. The shrimp tacos came with avocado and was perfectly cooked. The gentleman suggested that I try the tortilla a little bit crispier so I ordered my tacos with one crispier tortilla and one soft shell tortilla. The crispier tortilla was okay however I think I prefer the soft tortilla more.

I recommend this place to anybody looking to fulfill the street taco itch. I only tried the carnitas, asada, and shrimp so I don't know how the rest of their meats are but I would assume delicious. They also have burritos quesadillas and a few other items on their menu.

I normally take pictures to post with my review however I was so hungry and the food was so great that I just ate it all. Maybe next time I'll have it...

I had two hand made super tacos out of buche and side of chips and salsa. The meat tasted old, chewy, and flavorless. I really wish this wasn’t the case, though, it was disappointing considering all the recommendations. It did not have the avocado or cheese which was another dissatisfaction. The overall aesthetics looked delicious but fell short of delivering a decent product. Furthermore, If you love spicy-HOT 🥵, that red sauce they have is amazing! You’ve been warned. The salsa verde was mild on the spicy meter and full of flavor from the citrusy tomatillos. Chips were crispy, lightly salted, and delicious. I will be back because this is a one off. They have a small menu and from the recommendations I’ve received, their tacos are the go-to. Customer service was terrible, stopped by with a group of coworkers, waited and waited and we were never acknowledged, finally when asked one of the workers (waitress) if we can order food, she said she didn’t know and wasn’t working the register in a very bothered and annoyed tone. Then we noticed the cooks and waitress arguing, at that point we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Very unprofessional.

I have visited this place before, service has been good on those prior encounters…. Maybe they were short-staffed today or having a bad day, but a customer should never be treated badly.

Their shrimp tacos dorados are very good, but with our experience today I’d be skeptical to return or recommend this place to anyone.
