I’ve been experiencing very serious and painful issues since I received a terribly damaging micro-blading procedure a couple of years ago by someone that I now know was not a properly trained practitioner…went WAY too deep and I knew within a few hours that I was ”butchered”! got in my car to drive home and cried all the way praying that I would heal & be ok! I take really good care of my skin and use great products… and I had recently been trained as a PMU artist at one of the top schools in Beverly Hills so had some knowledge! Unfortunately I was wrong about being able to manage my care. 9 months into the healing process I realized I had been left with massive scarring and the reason I had tried micro blading was due to a stress induced bout of alopecia that caused hair, eyebrows and lashes to fall out! About a year after I received the procedure, taking some extra supplements for hair growth I started to see a few hairs popping through. However they would present with a small pimple type of bump and then hair would pop out, but as time went on the bumps/pimples started to get bigger and last longer so the hair was unable to pop out easily if at all! I saw my regular dermatologist who I have seen for many years and trusted with my care. He put me on oral/ topical antibiotics and steroid cream.seemed to fix the problem for a short period of time, but things came back and came back with larger bumps and now taking longer for the hair to pop out.I went back and he put me on another course of same meds just for a longer period of time. Again I got some relief and thought I was possibly home free ! Then 2-3 months later same symptoms but more painful and pronounced! I went back one more time and he change my topical antibiotic but kept the other meds the same for another 2 mo course .. this time I did see improvement but never totally healed. So I decided to take a break from the meds and tried acupuncture. That seemed to help for 30-60 days, but again I was back to same situation, but worse ! I decided to see what top dermatologist were in my area and went to Berman Skin Clinic.First appt was seen by a practitioner, was prescribed oral and topical antibiotics..discussed a round of laser hair removal and did that..all seemed to be going ok . some ups and downs, but I was hopeful. Then after last laser treatment and meds ran out I had a few weeks of peace. Then was right back where I started . so went back to Berman saw a different practitioner. She followed same course of action, but no laser hair removal. I did ok with that, but never was in the clear. So now about 2-3 weeks ago made appointment to see Dr. Berman. I was excited and hoping he could give me a diagnosis, and get me on a course of treatment that would end this nightmare! Well he was the biggest heartbreak of all. He spent 5 mins max, wouldn’t even look closely at my skin, wouldn’t listen to what I was saying, my questions,or even look at pictures I had to show, my eyebrows were very swollen, red and infected. He told me to stop scratching them with my finger nails !!Say what?? My nails? Gross! he said he didn’t want to see my pics and he didn’t need to LOOK at my skin..LIKE I mean look up close at my skin to see what I was seeing. He said to get tegraderm wound/scar dressing and leave it for 7 days! I was beside myself that this is what I was told, but I did what he said ( went 2 days at a time not 7 ) and now things are worse than ever! Skin completely infected, massive swelling, boils, painful as hell, my heart was/is completely broken! I am losing hope..Not at all what I was expecting from this type of a place or a doc with that type of reputation! I was shocked! something is seriously wrong with my skin and I am terrified at this point! The scaring has gotten exceptionally worse, ZERO days that aren’t torture and I told him all of this! This has been beyond depressing & I am full of anxiety! its destroying what self esteem I have left.I have never given a bad review, but this felt cruel & inhumane.I won’t be returning! PERIOD. Spent a lot of...
Read moreI have been going to CSI for four years. Today, at my fourth annual visit, with my fourth doctor in four years, I had a my appointment and felt Dr Curry was very polite and helpful. Why the one star? As i’m Leaving, I turn in my paperwork. It is the office’s policy (as of 2016) to now have a patient’s credit card on file for services not covered by insurance (co-payment, cost of appointment, etc.). I again have been a patient for years and I have double coverage. When turning in my paperwork, I informed the front desk that I was choosing to not provide my credit card information or signing their form. The receptionist then informed me she would have to treat me like a cash patient or I could apply for their credit card. I politely explained that there would NEVER be a reason why they wouldn’t be paid as long as they did their due diligence and contacted my two insurance companies for payment. This is all occurring in the waiting room where other patients/ clients are listening to my personal information and was never asked to see if I would like to talk about my issue in private. I offered to wait for the office to contact both of my insurance companies to verify payment, but the receptionist told me I must not be understanding her explanation well enough and offered to have the office manager speak to me. I agreed to speak to her, because I already had seen the doctor and didn’t want to pay cash for my appointment. The office manager took me to the staff break room, because there was no where else for us to speak privately ( finally some professionalism). The office manager reexplained the policy. I reexplained I have two insurances that cover at 80% each. She explained that people don’t always pay their bills and the owner had to take a million dollar loss a few years ago. Meaning that because there are people who choose to not pay their bills everyone must pay the price. My issue is I feel that I have and will continue to be willing to prove that I have two insurances and they will always be paid. Why do they need my credit card number? Thought about this.....it’s because if you bill someone and they don’t pay the clinic doesn’t get paid. If you charge a credit card, you get my money and then it is the card company’s problem getting paid. Or? This is just shady. Iwhen I left the office manager let me know she was being nice and not making me pay for my 15 minute appointment. If I choose to come back I will have to abide by the office policy. So, just want anyone thinking about using this office or any of the 40 other offices own by this doctor, if you don’t feel comfortable with giving out your credit card information and other personal information so they can give you 10 days to pay them then think about another dermatologist office. I left and do not plan to ever return, because I am not a thief and do not like being...
