This Nob Hill has continually gotten nicer over the years. The interior definitely has the modern grocery store look to it, with nicely organized, not overly crowded shelves, a bigger bakery section with a Peet's Coffee inside the store and a little seating area, a big fridge/freezer section in the middle, and plenty of checkout lanes. There's a decent variety of grocery/household/personal care items for a store this size—not very big by today's standards, but not too small and definitely not over-crowded either—as well as a nice little floral/gift section. I believe there is a US Bank atm inside the store too. The biggest perk this store offers though (in my opinion) is its location, essentially one of the first shopping centers on the south side of Salinas, that's easy to get to no matter which way you're coming from. Especially considering there aren't any other true grocery stores anywhere on this side of town. The only reason I'd give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, compared to other stores like Safeway these days, the selection Nob Hill offers overall isn't as big or varied, however it's certainly not a bad selection...
Read moreIf I could give this review a negative star I would. So after paying for my 1 item and putting it in my pocket as I was walking out "Robert" at the self check out station decided to Harass me and approached me very aggressively asking me if I paid for my 1 item. He didn't ask for a receipt either. He was way too close and I felt like he was going to grab me or hit me . I was already having a bad day and then this guy does that. He could have gotten hurt acting the way he did with me. Then he started throwing insults telling me I was a "young punk" , mind you I'm in my 40's and probably older than him smh. That guy Robert does not need to be in Customer Service he needs to be working graveyard stocking in the back away from paying customers. I've never been treated like that before at Nob Hill...
Read moreBeen shopping here for many years...and it keeps getting worse. If you're not getting run over by Instacart/online order filling employees, you're getting talked over as if your very presence in the store is a total inconvenience. Really the customer service here is appallingly rude. Then they have bag charges - always getting charged for way more bags than I use...every single time. Mix in plenty of out of date items, lots of empty shelves, and add in the highest grocery prices in the entire region, and you got one terrible grocery store. Nevermind that this store's response to the pandemic has left much to be desired. No social distancing here, and I've never seen anyone clean anything in the entire store - ever. A drive into the peninsula is absolutely worth it to...
