Black Rabbit — Restaurant in Salisbury

Came back here with my partner after a year. Perhaps it was a one-off, but Black Rabbit has really seemed to have gone downhill. It was a shame. The hostess and main older waitress were visibly very stressed and passive-aggressive, which made us feel quite uncomfortable and unwelcome. The floor and bar weren't too busy, but the general vibe felt more like a sports pub than a nice sit-down meal. We ordered couple of cocktails which, were just ok. Then we ordered the shrimp tempura app which was 90 percent batter 10 percent shrimp. Perhaps the Black Rabbit is changing it ambiance from a sweet little eatery to a bit more of a greasy pub food vibe, if so, it's working. But I don't think we'll go back mainly due to the vibe of the hostess and waitress working there. Started off with the calamari, which was heavily battered but the calamari was tender and they had a lemony tarter sauce to dip it in. I had an everything burger which was charred grilled and delicious with sweet potato fries, and my wife had the quiche with a garden salad that she enjoyed immensely.we went back a second time and I had the tempura shrimp appetizer. My husband and I went here for lunch before we went to see the race at Limerock. I mentioned to the waitress that I have a gluten allergy. She said okay and asked if it was celiac. I told her yes. So, I ordered the nachos with just the cheese. She came back to the table and said that the tortilla chips are fried and that we would need to change my order.
