Checkered Flag Barbecue — Restaurant in Salisbury

Good place 4 BBQ or just a simple breakfast and quick lunch stop. Kind of one of those places you forget about in Salisbury. Kind of tucked away in a bad location on South Main Street. Just went there for a quick lunch the waitress that had been there a long time. I remembered her from way back gave me moody attitude. So I decrease their Stars down to three. I didn't deserve the attitude at all I didn't even ask but one question. And I pleasantly did it. One thing I always hate the waitresses here always say they don't make the prices. They seem to be raising their prices a little too high as of late. And yes I know it's not the waitresses fault. Just tell us pleasantly. Maybe they get asked that a lot. Other gripe is It's hard to get in and out because it's at a bad intersection. However has neat combo deals daily. Not too shabby hamburgers and hot dogs here but their biggest surprise is their chicken wings are good along with their BBQ. My favorite here is the barbecue chicken but they also offer other great comfort type food like chicken and Dumplin's, country-style steak daily. They offer a punch card for a free meal if you come here a lot. One big surprise is they have some pretty good cakes. I think they are homemade. My favorite there is pineapple cake. But my biggest like about this place is they do have military discount. I also saw some senior citizens and children's discounts. Enjoy one of Salisbury's better family BBQ restaurants. Be careful with the Moody waitresses. Maybe a drawback of this establishment. But food quality is good. God is good. All the time. May you trust in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And always...

I called in to place an order and I was rushed the entire time. My call was only a total of 2mins. And 38 secs. But I was still rushed and told that they had a line. The woman was rushing so much that she kept hearing my name wrong. She then tells me "ma'm,I have have line here" when I correct my name for her. This was just horrible service. Sometimes the food being good doesn't matter if you are rude to your customers. I am so upset over this that I just want to not even go pick my food up or even spend the money with this place. When someone is spending their money somewhere they should be treated with respect and appreciation. If not for customers and their money,then this place would go out of bussiness. And someone placing an order over the phone shouldn't be any less of importance. If you can't answer the phone and take an order,then DONT ANSWER AT ALL. Let someone else take the order or someone take care of the line while you take the phone order. I Can't believe you all would treat your customers this way. And this isn't the 1st time I have been treated rudely. I had my son with me one day and he is 8 years old so he was trying to tell the waitress what he wanted but was having a hard time deciding.she just said ill take someone else's order then... I have been many times to checkered flag but NEVER have i had such a lukewarm dried out meal as today. I wish i had gotten the waitresses name. People came and went while we sat waiting. First of all we waited a good 30-40 minutes for our food which looked like it was sitting on the counter for a long time while the waitress took takeout orders and collected payments. I saw someone else saying our food is sitting up there on the counter getting cold. I said when checking out...do you have a new cook? Because the meal was less than satisfactory. She said oh no we just had a lot of takeout orders. Well.it seems to me the customer who is sitting there waiting and waiting for food should have priority. i am so disappointed and then we sat while waiting for our to go order. I think those take out petrified chicken tenders (with no dipping sauce to soften them) will go into the trashcan. You have lost a long time...
