La Ceiba — Restaurant in Salisbury

I'm so thankful that I found this place a couple years back. Living is Salisbury I haven't found a very wide selection of good food. A couple of places but not many. It's hard to beat La Ceiba. A couple of things you should know before you go. #1 it's cash only. #2 expect to wait at the minimum 20 min for your food. You can place an order ahead of time to cut down on the wait. And thy will take an order over the phone for dine in or carry out. To me this is what makes La Ceiba great. They don't start nothing until you order it. For instance my favorite dish Papusas, they are made with Masa stuffed with pork beans and cheese. Some places would have them pre pattied but not La Ceiba they don't make the Masa and patty them out untill you order them. Wonderful food. Excellent prices. The customer service seems to be lacking. Six tables were served drinks and food after my party sat down. I understand it takes time to prepare such delicious authentic food, but it takes very little time to serve water. Could not get the check. Basically my party was ignored. Unfortunately it felt intentional. Ended up leaving more than enough money to cover food and tip because I had to get back to work and could not get the check so I just left cash. We love going here to eat esp after church Sundays. None of us are fluent in Spanish and they do a great job still accommodating our orders. The food is too knotch, the pouposas, corn tortillas and pastellitos are made fresh and so so good. Chicken is always so juicy, better than other fancy restaurants around town. The refried beans are def homemade and delicious, rice is fluffy and not dry the yuca is also amazing. We usually get a bunch of stuff and share.
