Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Sallisaw

Burgers and Ice Cream is what you can expect from this place. You can tell it's a hotspot in the area! Friendly staff, could tell right away we were not from the area, maybe it was the accent or the fact everyone in the joint was staring at us for wearing masks.

None of us are mask nuts or anything but each state has been different on this trip so we just opt to wear them. Better safe than sorry. Honestly this review is mostly for our experience. Once the lady behind the counter heard we were from PA and that were were passing through that opened us up to our next encounter.

Some dude name Samwalden walks up to us, friendly Santa type. Asking us about PA, he's from there too and moved out to OK after his time serving the country. We thanked him for his service and then nodded for a few moments in silence before he says to us. " You know you don't need to wear masks here" one of my buddies replies "Well I am a sheep" I held back a chuckle when Samwalden came back with " It's bad for your health" then walked off.

As I mentioned I'm no mask nut. I don't go after folks to tell them to wear their mask. I'm more of a do what you want leave me alone type. So getting this type of welcome my first time in Oklahoma was a surprise. Nothing that Braum's could have done, just know if you are not from the area and you wear masks be prepared to stick out like a sore thumb.

Oh and the burgers when we finally got to enjoy them were top notch! Got the Pimento burger and could have gone with two! We just didn't get a chance to truly savor the experience once we outed ourselves as Yanks. Bless...

The staff at this store are exceptionally welcoming and friendly! On a drive-thorough order, I interacted through the speaker with a female employee, then at the first window with a young male employee, then at the second window with a friendly female, who apologized and asked me to pull forward while they prepared my order. The order was delivered to my vehicle by a young man.

Each of these employees were friendly, helpful and projected a genuine caring attitude. The three employees I met had a big friendly smile on their face and each took a few extra seconds to chat beyond what was required to do their job. It is obvious this manager runs an an excellent store!

I live in North Oklahoma City, where the employees seem annoyed to have to take take an order, and project an attitude of not caring about anything other than the time their shift ends

Thanks to the manager of the Sallisaw store, y'all put a smile on my face, installed a feeling that you cared about my satisfaction with the store, and completely changed my attitude for the last three hours of my drive, while I drove home. Whatever y'all are doing, you're doing it...

So this evening after the drag races my family and I went to Braum’s In sallisaw. It is a Saturday night so they DONOT close until 11:00pm. We got there a little before 10:30pm and we were able to make out order at about 10:30pm. After making our order and paying the bill we were told that they were closing and our order would be made togo. At that point the staff began to turn customers away and locked the doors at 10:45pm and stopped taking orders at the drive through. Staff was laughing that they were going to turn people away. I watched as several employees complained to customers about how busy they were and they had to work Sunday with the church crowd. My husbands milk shake was wrong and when I got outside to eat my dinner because we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant my burger was covered in about 50 jalapeños.
