El Celaya Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Sallisaw

Me and my spouse visited Celayas today, it wasn't busy and our servers were as attentive as they could be given this was our first time in Celayas. The food was perfect and I had plenty of time to choose from the menu as we were not rushed. I had the Jose special, to me it paired so well as a chicken and steak mix with a blend of grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers with cheese sauce over top a bed of Mexican rice. But I was a little disappointed looking at my spouses plate, the shrimp Celaya dinner, just how it was plated, the mexican rice laid flat with too much sauce but really good shrimp on the huge plate and when reading the menu for it we expected a little bit more avocado instead of two slices on top of shredded lettuce when the salad could have been served on the side and the rice it could have been bowled on the plate with the shrimp and a little bit of sauce ladled over the top with the beans on the side but my spouse did like it. We didn't mind the non authentic Mexican feel, it felt like sitting in a diner, but paying for the extra $3.99 charge to use your credit/debit card was really the only thing that really bothered me about coming back. My card was used for a separate transaction for $51.38, more than what I paid, that wasn't my meal! I paid for my meal, but I mistakenly dropped my credit card without realizing it until the next day, I couldn't retrieve it because of the July 4th holiday. I will NEVER eat here again. I can't believe someone didn't have the integrity to turn my card in. Also, they didn't verify the card user like I did. My card is a special requested military bank card...

Waitress and waiter both very friendly and helpful! There was a drunk, belligerent man in there trying to get more beer, but they kept him from disrupting the other diners too much. The food was very good. I will definitely dine here again when I get the opportunity. The waiter even walked me to my car since I was dining alone and the “loud” customer had gone outside to smoke.
