We first visited on a Friday night, and I unfortunately did not take pictures of our food (sad face). We sat on the outdoor patio. They had a DJ and dance lights outside. It was a good vibe. The outdoor seating was good and there was a dance floor. Our server was Joanna (shout out to her for being the bee's knees). Our food was out quick and looked great. One of our burritos was cold on the inside somehow, but she was quick to take it, and then another man delivered it with many apologies. I ordered the chimichangas and they were great! My son did order the kids' cheese enchilada and said it was hard. The kids' menu is disappointing. Who goes to a Mexican restaurant in Texas and wants burgers and chicken nuggets? Cheese enchilada was the only option (barf from me). Friday night was a great experience... so much so that we wanted to go back on Saturday for lunch. Saturday lunch was a much different experience. Our server was not warm and inviting. We attempted to order a single taco for our 9-year-old (since there's not one on the kids' menu) and were told we could only order the taco meal that came with 3. It's weird that you can't order a single taco at a Mexican restaurant, but okay. I also wanted to order a single chimichanga since the two that came in the meal were too much for me the night before. I was, again, told no, you can't do that. There's also no lunch menu...so portions are on the bigger side, and there's nothing you can even order that's small. Then, we looked at the receipt. $2.50 for a scoop of sour cream and $2.50 for a pinch of shredded cheese to add is wild. Not to mention, these were asked to be added to our food. So, if I ordered a $12 meal and want a condiment added, it's $2.50 for each one. Wild. Our Saturday service and receipt changed our whole outlook. Our server also never came back after our food was delivered. And there were 20 people tops in the restaurant, so there was no reason for it. But Joanna Friday night, she's the best! 🙌 The queso was wonderful, but also it's $7.99 for a very small bowl of cheese. There is nothing in it, just about a cup of straight cheese. The complimentary chips were top-notch. I would go back just for these. The salsa was spicy, though...hence why we HAD to order queso. Overall, the food itself was great. The service was wildly different one day to the next. The menu would benefit from a lunch menu, smaller or single portion options, condiment pricing changes, and a wider kid's menu. Also, some parking signs or directions would be nice for newbies.

Blue Agave is easily the best Mexican restaurant in town! The atmosphere is lively and fun, with an outdoor patio featuring music that makes dining extra enjoyable. I had the fajita toxicas, bursting with flavor! Not the average fajitas from around town. My wife savored the delicious birria quesabirria. Even though my fajitas were good I was a little jealous of hers. Our waitress, Joanna, was exceptional—providing fantastic service and great recommendations. She filled us in on exciting restaurant events like their upcoming grand opening, birthday perks, karaoke nights, and live music. With outstanding food, a fun vibe, and top-notch service, Blue Agave is a must-visit for authentic Mexican cuisine!

Rae and I go adventuring on our own b/c everyone else is always busy. All we got to say is. ..you snooze you lose. Today we tried the new restaurant in San Angelo. The service was amazing, the waitress Lilly gets 5 stars, she even gave baby Rae 3 quarters for her piggy bank. We both enjoyed the strawberry margarita 😉 and the birra quesabirria was freaking amazing. I got the chicken fajitas toxicas with bacon and chorizo. Rae and I give it 5+ stars. Music was also on point. My tipsy sidekick was dancing all crazy trying to throw gritos. Thank goodness we didn't get kicked out after she almost fell out of her chair. Nap time. Zzzzz

Service was good our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal. The salsa and chips were great so we were excited for our meals. We saw people rave about the watermelon margaritas on fb so we had to try. When they came out we were a little disappointed as there was no watermelon garnish- no biggie though. What got us was that it was very clearly a thick overly sweet watermelon syrup making up most of the drink. Neither of us finished the drink as it was too rich for our stomachs. As far as meals go, my husbands was good but the steak was incredibly thin. Think of a typical sirloin you’d get at the store and then cut the width in 1/4th. My nachos were ok. I had ordered the nachos- I got roughly 1.5oz of beef on a huge plate of chips. There was too much sour cream and cheese covering it as well. The ground beef had a good flavor and bits of peppers mixed in and the chips were great but the toppings and lack of protein ruined what should have been a good thing. All in all I don’t know if we will go back. I’d love for a business to stay open in this location but the quality felt similar to that of Rosa’s. After tip we walked out hungry, a little nauseated from the drinks and with $65 less...

My biggest takeaway was inattentive service on a busy Saturday night. I understand the place is packed, but my server did not check on my table or refill our waters. They were sure to come by and ask us if we wanted more alcohol however...

I had the fajitas - meat was succulent, a tad too salty, but not fall-apart-in-your-mouth tender. I dont want to fight my fajitas when eating them from the tortilla. I dont think there were enough grilled vegetables with my plate which was a bummer. Rice and beans were fine. Sour cream was served on a plate touching the rice, beans, and pico. It was unsettling to see that to be quite honest.

The atmosphere was great. I can tell the staff here enjoy working here amidst the chaos of a dinner rush. It seemed like three parties had their birthday here at the same time and the staff encouraged the whole restaurant to sing for them. As well as yell "SHOTS!!!" when a table ordered a round. That part was so enjoyable we ordered our own round of shots too.

Overall, the food was good and reasonably priced, but I dont think I would return based on the service (or lack thereof)...
