Here’s my hot take and I’ll address some people reviews/comment that you’ll likely read too.

I had the steak with cheese sandwich (which is how it’s even listed on their menu) and it was damn delicious. Now I’ve never been to Philly so I’ve never had an authentic “Philly cheesesteak sandwich” but nowhere are they selling it as such.

What rock do you live under if you don’t know that this is shave steak pieces? Yes, the pieces are small but it makes for a way better eating experience. It’s not ground beef.

Yes, I agree the sandwich should be cut in half, but guess what? They give you a knife and I was able to cut the sandwich in half no problem. If you’re too lazy to take care of yourself, ask them to cut it when you order, I’m sure they’ll do so. But the knife they give you is totally capable of cutting your sandwich with ease.

I’m happy they do the “V” cut, they load the sandwich with so much meat that the sandwich would fall apart and be a total disaster if it was cut all the way through. It’s also keeps the juices in… yes it makes it soggy, but any sandwich using real meat is going to do so.

The sandwich was damn good and I forgot to take a picture, but I’ll be back and will update with photos soon.

Such a great neighbourhood deli serving...

Hoagies, daily specials, soups, canoli. A simple menu packed with delicious food. First of all, finding a place to park may be a bit of a challenge but going slightly out of your way will be well worth the effort. If you can't find a spot in front of the place, there are numerous places to park on nearby side streets. It's a compact space with a full view of the kitchen. You'll be greeted at the counter and directed to a board with the menu. There are hoagies of all varieties. We opted for the curry chicken salad. It was a HUGE sandwich stuffed with delicious creamy and slightly sweet chicken curry salad. Tomatoes and thin slices of onion top the filling. Grab your drink from the selections of sodas, teas, Tops in the cooler, grab some chips and wait for your order to be brought to you. Seating is picnic tables and two-tops outside the deli. Too full to even consider the delicious looking canoli. But will be back soon! Very, very...

This place has been on my list for a while now and after today I wish I had gotten there sooner. The staff was nice and friendly, with lots of smiles. The Italian hoagie was great, it had a little more mayo than I normally like but that's easy to fix. The meats and condiments were both fresh and delicious and the portion size was perfect. The real star though was their Ruben. I am a snob when it comes to Ruben sandwiches and this one really hit the spot. The Marble Rye was well-toasted with the right amount of burnt to give a good toasted flavor all the way through the sandwich. The sauerkraut and the spicy mustard really pulled the pastrami and marble rye together without overpowering the thousand island dressing. All in all, this has to be one of the best Rubens in town. I am definitely coming back to try some of the...

Best hoagies/subs in San Antonio! Owners are from the East Coast, and they definitely know what they're doing. My mom and I shared a whole Italian and my sister order half a turkey, and no crumbs were left behind. Be sure to try the homemade hoagie pepper spread as well - you can get a small container of it from their fridge. Can't wait to try more items off this menu like the cheese steaks and pasta salads. Seating is outdoors on picnic tables and high top rounds, so keep that in mind during the summer or if you come with a large party. These would also easily keep well if you take them home to enjoy. Do your taste buds a favor and check out Beacon Hill Deli!

Self-appointed sandwich expert, here. People can jaw on and on about what makes a proper Reuben. I'm not a sandwich gatekeeper. I just like good food. This Reuben was my favorite I've had outside of the east coast. The staff here is kind and attentive. One of the workers (edit: Eddie from Brooklyn!) noted I was straight-up murdering my sandwich, getting Russian dressing all in my beard, and dropped off some more napkins, noting how I was expertly smashing the pastrami. I was told the Meat Man was Matt from Philly. Matt, as a Houstonian, we can't talk baseball, but I gotta get your brine ratios, brother. Eddie and Miranda, thank y'all as well. Will be back.

Look, the pics don’t do this place justice. If you’re from the Northeast and miss your old Italian deli or bodega, let me tell you.. this place will make you feel like you found a piece of home. The sandwiches are exactly what I think of when I hear the word subs or hoagies, and it tastes exactly like it should! We also got to try their homemade soups and they were also phenomenal. I was happy to hear the owner is from Philly, & gets the bread shipped down from there. It’s delicious, in a great location, and just what SATX needed! Now go get your hoagie, & thank me later.
