Had the opportunity to meet family and friends for dinner at The Munch! Have heard and seen so much about it, we were all super excited to check it out. We ordered appetizers and mains.
Underground Fries 4/10 - these were on the “secret menu” and sounded fantastic. Sadly, they weren’t as good as hoped. This item was the only thing we tried that didn’t meet expectations. The fries were overcooked, and the dish was packed in the bowl a little tight, which made it hard to get out.
Chicken on a Stick 10/10 - holy crap! This was probably one of the best COS I’ve ever had. The breading was on point and the chicken was cooked perfectly. This was a highlight of the menu for sure.
Spinach Artichoke Dip 7/10 - the dip itself was flavorful and the texture was good too. The best part were the homemade chips! A little crunchy and oh so good.
Candied Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger 9/10 - man, the 1/2 lb burgers don’t disappoint, especially this one. The star of the show were the candied jalapeños for sure! The perfect amount of heat paired with an equal amount of sweetness. The bacon was thick and flavorful. The meat was 1/2 lb of awesomeness!! Definitely give this burger a try.
Munch Burger 8/10 - avocado, bacon, cheese, arugula……very good burger!!
Barbacoa Grilled Cheese 8/10 - very weird, but very good. Avocado, cilantro, onion and tasty Barbacoa made this Sammie something special!
Service 9/10 - everyone in the joint made us feel welcome and were super helpful. Extremely accommodating as well, as they helped move chairs and stools to make room for our party.
Atmosphere 8/10 - cool vibe and set up nicely.
Overall 9/10 - you definitely should check this place out. Amazing burgers and other food items, stellar service!!...
Read moreThis place looks awesome. Online and driving by. Wife and I have always wanted to go, we decided to give it a shot. The pictures look good we both decided to order one of the grilled cheeses. I go with the patty melt, wife goes with Barbacoa. We were recommended upgrading to French fries. We did. And we got sodas. It was expensive. We paid just shy of 60 dollars, it was expensive to us because it came off like a pricey fast food/food truck vibes. That's more restaurant prices, not what you pay for fancy grilled cheese. Anyways We had 1 hour to kill before a date. We figured eh looks fast food vibes. We should have the food in 30 minutes tops our date is only a 3 minute drive away. 45 minutes later we got the food. I've refilled my soda about 3 times already. The big red had no carbonation but golly the pineapple cream soda was worth every penny. Delicious. Ok so onto the food. My wife's Barbacoa was very fatty, too chewy not a good cut of meat. My patty melt was just a bunch of loose ground beef with barely any seasoning. Loose ground beef is great mixed in spaghetti, not on a grilled cheese. Should have been a beef patty so it wasn't so loose and odd texture, the beef still had a pinkish tint, I made it through about half but couldn't keep going. The French fries my wife thought were ok, I didn't care for them. So recap, overpriced y'all. Go to a restaurant with 60 bucks for 2, not 2 sandwiches. The wait was longer than expected, 45 minutes. The ambiance is odd, there's too much hodge podge of random stuff, there's no set theme or aesthetician. The pineapple cream...
Read moreIt's categorized as fast food. I'd say it's more crafted food from the times we spent there. You walk up to the counter. [You might want to check their menu at their excellent website to get an idea what you might want to try.] The guys at the counter are eager to answer any questions and make recommendations. First time i went with a young diner who opted for the footlong corndog which he polished off, and as a finicky eater this was so to his liking. I had the overloaded philly cheese steak with homemade chips and tried a couple the cream sodas which were refreshing. The sandwich was two handsful with tasty beef and classic swiss with onions and peppers. Next day was for me the fried brussel sprout leaves caesar salad with candied pecans and craisins topped with crispy chicken and dressing on the side. This salad was one huge bowlful. The crispy brussels were so satisfying. My bowl was emptied. My lunchmate had the vegetarian burger which was so flavorful and had a great burger texture. It came with crispy homemade chips. The staff is attentive and came to check that all was well despite this being a counter service shop. They kept the tables clean and the condiments and drinks stations in good order. A great lunch option....
