Fred's Fish Fry — Restaurant in San Antonio

To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally complain about the unsatisfactory service I received at Fred Fried Fish on 12/05/2024 about 7:30 or so. I visited their establishment located at 1802 Goliad Rd. SA,Tx. 78223 after I called in my order #02 Family Special 9pc #12 Shrimp #16 chicken wings. When I drove to the location & went straight to the window. The young lady (Maria)Reprimanded me for not going to the intercom to let them know I have arrived. I was taken back. & said okay. The gentleman next to me asked”if we were going to be in time out for not notifying her.” My response to his comment :”I don’t know.” Then the short cook told Maria the order. Maria totaled the order. Turned to me and told me the price. I was trying to figure out why I was being mistreated. Before I could say a word. Maria asked if I was going to just sit there & stare at her or was I going to pay. I replied “I was not because she was rude.”She smiled at me & said ok and slammed the window. Befor I could finish my sentence. Proceeded to walk away. I knocked on the window to get the cooks attention. Once the cook came to the window. I asked “what was that about? “The short cook replied “ I don’t know. I’m just the cook. I asked to speak to the manager. The short cook informed me “there wasn’t one on site.” The short cook informed me “Maria is calling her boss & is refusing service. I was okay with that & asked her for the phone number of the manager,I need to speak with. To report the incident of poor customer service. The short cook did not return. Instead The manager “Veronica “came to the window a passive aggressive manner. I explained what happened. Veronica asked if I was going to pay for the order because it was already made and been sitting there. I was taken back with her being incapable of understanding the rudeness I just received from her co worker. I said I want the manager name and number. Veronica informed me she is the manager and she will handle the situation herself. And pushed the issue if I wanted the order. I asked the person next to me in the truck cab if he still wanted the order since he was paying for it. He said no. I notified her and left. I was left feeling ignored & questioned why was I met with such animosity. I am requesting that Fred Fried Fish take immediate action to address this issue by having all employees get proper training in customer service. Also if the establishment does not have surveillance already on the premises, please put them. To protect the employees...

So I'm going to tell you right now there's a little rumor that always circulates Fred's Fish Fry. It's always weird because this place is not remodeled any single store and has not changed their recipe since as far as I can remember when I first visited the store when I was a little kid and back in 1986. As far as I can tell the furniture the building and he'll probably even the fish recipe is exactly the same as it's been for the past 30 some out years. There's also a little rumors thing about Fred's Fish Fry that most of the businesses are not in fact open their does money laundry businesses to cover the fact that no one knows why all these locations are still constantly open and yet doesn't seem to be generating any business. But I got to tell you that the little secret and the Rumor that's running around all the Fred's Fish Fry here in San Antonio Texas, because if you walk into any Fred's Fish Fry here in San Antonio Texas whether it be on the far south side or somewhere on the far west side you will find a pleasant surprise of weird rectangular fish with pieces of bread and weird accordion looking french fries that taste so old mately good that will leave you baffled on how this place serve such a really good fried fish and fried french fries and yet doesn't seem really to be generating any business and still looks like you walked back into the fifties walking into the store I mean who does still have the hardened wooden chairs composite wooden chairs mind you that they still have. So if you're a millennial and you were looking for some fish that looks like it's from some illegal business but it really is not and it tastes so good because everyone and their mom doesn't like to go there because you wanted rather go to Long John Silver's then a local business called Fred's Fish Fry then you know what give it a shot I tell you what because you are going to be...

Don't make the same mistake I did, MAKE sure you check your receipt before leaving. I stopped there as I was running errands and I was in a hurry, but because I had been there in the past I trusted them and I didn't look at the total. All I had was one order of shrimp, 1 cup of their own made tarter sauce and 1 coke and 1 sweet tea. I had to throw the tea away because it was gross like it had been sitting in the container way, way too long like really old. Well anyway when I got home later and I went online to check my charges I was shocked to see they charged me $146.60 on my credit card. Now I have to go out of my way back there to confront them on the fraud charge they posted on me. They should have caught it when they put it on the register or when they balanced their register at closing (which I have over 20 years experience doing), so as far as I'm concerned it is fraud because "you can not balance your register drawer if you charged the correct amount on the register" because it would be way off.
