Fuentes Barbacoa — Restaurant in San Antonio

Normally this place is really good & I would have given a 5 start review, but this is the 3rd time in the past month ordering food from there where I’ve noticed the barbacoa has been more and more greasy each time I get it, as well as lots of fatty parts in the meat. Normally it’s not a greasy and they drain out as much as possible (something I’ve always appreciated) and their isn’t to many fatty pieces in the meat. And just this weekend I noticed a difference in the tortillas. They smelled store bought. Thought it was just me but once I bit into my taco I could definitely tell these weren’t their normal tortillas. I did call and the girl working did confirm that they were store bought. She mentioned the factory where they get their normal tortillas was closed. I did express my concerns. And recommend they advise their customers next time. Had I known the tortillas were not their normal tortillas I would have chose not to spend my money and just come back the next week. Because unfortunately the tortillas were horrible and I couldn’t even eat my tacos causing me to lose out on $$. I do hope they take that into consideration, because I never know now when their tortilla supplier is closed and now I will have to ask every time if...

Barbacoa, lengua, and lamb where good but the tamales were not good with both the beans and pork tasting old. The service was ok at first but or order was messed up and when I came back in to get it corrected, I felt like they were blaming me for the issue. But when you are short 1lb of barbacoa,Pico de Gallo, and 6 tamales and already paid for those things, I would say it is definitely not the customers fault. I will give it another try soon and understand that there was some confusion going on and the employees did seem like good people who were just frustrated...

Moved from the Westside to the Southside thought we had good barbacoa on that side till I tried there's OMG DELICIOUS everything is served in great portions and the way they make their tamales is the best you don't get more masa than carne you get the perfect amount of each.
