La Isla pescadería — Restaurant in San Antonio

Food was decent. But the service was absolutely terrible. My food sat in the window with 2 waitresses ignoring it for almost 10mins. One even grabbed her tables food and left my plate there. We had to get up and walk to the window for our waitress to come near us so we can tell her. Then she walks to the table and ask who’s plate it is… maybe it’s the ONE person on the table who doesn’t have food? You know, it is YOUR table so you’d assume she’d be paying attention. I would have loved some lemons but the waitress simply dropped the plate, didn’t ask us a thing and left. Never came back. Couldn’t even ask if we’d like some more alcohol beverages? I guess cause we were a 6 top she didn’t care for the tip since there’s an automatic grat? As a former server, I normally tip more than 20% but go ahead and keep that 15%. First time at this place during lunch time on a Sunday and was not busy at all. We got sitted right away. We waited for over 15 minutes with no service at all. No drinks or anything all the while tables arriving after us were waited on and waitresses were walking around us. We went to 7 Mares right after and got waited on within the first minute of arriving. We wanted to try a new place and well, first impressions are unfortunate but will not be going back. I would also like to add that we were a bi-racial couple, white and hispanic, while everyone else in the establishment was 100% mexican. Its too bad as we were looking forward to a good experience. MUCHO CUIDADO COMIENDO AQUÍ ... Mi Marido pagó la cuenta y le pidió el recibo a la mesera, que nos atendió se llama, Viri. Se le figuro que era demás.. la Mesera, se aseguró en no decirle que la propina ya venía incluido en la cuneta. Ella le dio un recibo que decía, “Gift Receipt”, que no mostraba el precio de absolutamente nada, mucho menos que la propina estaba incluida. Y el le dejo otra buena propina, además de la que ya venía agregada a la cuenta. Yo regrese a preguntarle por el recibo que mostrará el precio de todo, y también si su propina ya estaba agregada a el bill, ella me dijo que si. Le dije que ella no le menciono nada a mi Marido y dejo que le diera OTRA propina separada. Entonces fue cuando ella me pregunto si yo lo quiera, le dije que se quedara con el. Obviamente, siendo deshonesta, lo necesitaba más. Hay muchos restaurantes en San Antonio, con comida que también es buena, y que le toque una Mesera honesta.

BE CAUTIOUS EATING HERE.. went for the first time, from out of state. Food was decent, when my Husband went to pay, our server named Viri, checked him out. The total seemed overpriced and he asked her for the receipt. She ended up printing him a “GIFT RECEIPT” that showed NO pricing, much less that her generous tip was already included in the total. He ended up tipping her again and generously, she decided to keep both tips. So I returned inside to ask for an itemized receipt and she was a bit off guard. I asked her if her tip was originally included and she said yes. So I told her in front of her coworkers, that she didn’t mention it to my Husband when he paid the bill and she kept both tips. It was only then, that she asked if I wanted it back. I refused it and told her to keep it, obviously with her dishonesty, she needed it more.
