Las Rancheritas Cafe — Restaurant in San Antonio

This place used to be my morning breakfast spot at least 4 times per week. However they would always try to overcharge my elderly lady friend because they are still on an archaic register that doesn't say the food/plate just ; item#1,#2 n so on. Well they had gotten away with it before. So we started going with her to pay and when we spoke up about it a cashier did not like it was very rude corrected how my friends spoke because she stutters when she gets upset. I explained to mgr how she was rude. Who was she I never to seen her, had she been trained to leave her problems @ the door when coming to work? We spoke the manager separately -made the decision that we could not come back when that's been our place for the last 5 years. It's usually husband, friend, & myself. But the manager said the additional friend s we bring that it is too noisy. So she was looking for a reason to ban us. She didn't like us laughing or being too loud. My husband has a deep voice n seems like he is always yelling It really wasn't about the food but location and just hanging out with my group of friends. When it came to food; the tortillas were always burnt the prices started going up you can never get a waitress to you, but we like being there together. I'm not going to let a kid cashier be disrespectful to an elder. Manners are just not taught today. And that is sad coming from a 38 yr old. You know my homie Raul AKA Rock bottom he works at a print screen shop on bandera close to H-E-B and and we're good friends I'm like this p r e p little white boy and he's like this v a t o but we are good friends because we are both payasos that being said he knows a lot of good authentic cuz he was born and raised here I was not I'm a transplant from 2016 from South Florida he has turned me on to some really good restaurants and this one by far has been one of the best freaking Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten at we had so Monday through Friday each day of the week they have like what would be their version of a blue plate special you know and so on Tuesdays it's enchiladas dude people let me tell you something okay the frijoles were amazing they aren't you running they weren't too bad but they had just a hint of like you know of that burnt that we like but made with real animal large okay they're not playing the tortillas are homemade and they bring you out chips a little bit like it's not but the food is amazing it's super cheap it's huge I'm going to post pictures 2 enchiladas either chicken or beef their own homemade corn tortillas amazing by the way there's also a Spanish rice very very light Spanish rice with just a little adobo in it and then...

Food was decent, though there beef fajitas were too vainie tough. Every bite was a workout. As we sat and waited for our order, we notice the other tables were getting chips and a small cup of salsa. We were new, so we never got any. And I had to ask for salsa after the waitress brought our food. "Is salsa a commodity?" I thought to myself, how is that possible in the westside. I was recommended this place more then 10 years ago. Things do change in family restaurants, like a new car for the mother in law. Hey, maybe the family got bigger. Something got to give.
